People always talk about Cronkite. But Lloyd lasted way, way longer. He was a wonderful news anchor and lovely man. I always enjoyed speaking with him, on or off the air. I even remember when he left CBC in ‘76 to move to CTV. It was seismic. RIP, Sir.

"I used to think that if there was reincarnation, I wanted to come back as the president or the pope or as a .400 baseball hitter. But now I would like to come back as the bond market. You can intimidate everybody."
To my fellow Americans: Please listen.
Despite the attacks, distractions, and false narratives, Canada 🇨🇦 remains one of America’s closest and most faithful friends.
Canadians have stood with us in our darkest hours—from helping Americans escape during the Iran hostage crisis, to responding to natural disasters, to opening their homes and airports to us after 9/11.
Canada is not only our neighbor. It is one of our most important trading partners, our ally, and our friend.
If Americans could choose any country in the world to share our longest border with, we would choose Canada every time.
That is the truth—and it is time we stood up for our friends.
More big news from Carney: "The Government of Canada, the Government of Alberta and the Oil Sands Alliance have now agreed on the terms to launch the Pathways project." Will need to see details, but it appears oil sands carbon capture will indeed move ahead.
