This isn’t debatable. The most conservative Democrats are the best performers in general elections and the most left-wing Democrats perform the worse.

This is also true for Republicans, incidentally, but in the opposite direction. JD Vance only won his Ohio Senate race by 6.5 after a pro gay moderate won the same seat by 25 and 31 in the two previous elections, despite Ohio being more Republican for Vance than it was in Rob Portman’s day
