@RepRileyMoore Dear Senator, I strongly believe there's been a compromise somewhere, I truly can't believe that you of all persons, belive this Senate and these Nigerian politicians.
It's so unfortunate....
No, most stats Peter Obi gave at the EU session are accurate or fair approximations:
- Nigeria pop ~242M (2026) is ~half the EUβs ~450M β correct.
- Africa: 2nd largest continent by size & population β yes.
- ~60% of Africaβs population young (under 25) β standard fact.
- 100M+ Nigerians in multidimensional poverty β yes (earlier data: 133M).
- Millions of out-of-school children β yes (~18-20M estimates).
- Per capita gap (Nigeria low thousands vs EU $40k+) β directionally right.
- Nigeria ~quarter of EU land area (~4.2M kmΒ²) β reasonable.
The claim that *all* stats are wrong doesnβt hold. Theyβre broadly solid for a speech.
βI think that, for democracy to flourish, only people who can accept the pain of rigging - sorry, defeat - should participate in an election.β
Happy new year to you, Dear Rotimi Amaechi.
