The play is about four Afghan-American women and a Black Muslim convert who go on an Umrah. The story inspiration and some events are taken from Humaira's Umrah in 2015.
Five Muslim American women set out on a pilgrimage to Mecca. Noor, an Afghan American immigrant, carries a hidden burden. Her tech CEO daughter, Maryam, grapples with legal troubles. Noor's nieces, the estranged sisters Sosan and Nadia, strive to heal their fractured bond. Meanwhile, Fatima, a Black Muslim convert, embarks on a quest to find her birth mother. Will this spiritual odyssey unite them, or will secrets, rivalries, and old wounds tear them apart?
Brave Afghan women are still protesting in the streets of Kabul - despite the Taliban crackdown on demonstrations. They continue to demand their basic human rights
As an Afghan I'm really happy that a movie finally portrays an Afghan as a competent, loyal and a hero. I guess it took Brits to tell a story that Americans movie makers seem to have a hard time doing. #TheCovenant
GUY RITCHIE’S THE COVENANT is an EXCELLENT war thriller about a U.S. Army Sergeant who goes back to Afghanistan to retrieve the interpreter who saved his life. Gripping intensity & superb performances from JAKE GYLLENHAAL & DAR SALIM; GUY RITCHIE’S best movie in years! SEE IT!
540 days since the Taliban banned teenage girls from school. Afghan women and girls remain locked out of their classrooms, denied the right to an education and the world remains mostly muted #LetAfghanGirlsLearn

“They closed the schools, the world remained silent, they closed our universities, silence, now they’ve come for our courses. What are we supposed to do? Kill ourselves?” Devastated Afghan girls mourn the loss of their education after the Taliban’s ban
