Wow, what a day. Well worth the early start for the Human Factors in Healthcare Conference. Inspirational speakers, meeting course mates and finally meeting one of my inspirational figures (@BrennanSurgeon). Thank you all at @HumanFactorsSN who organised it.
Really proud of the @HumanFactorsSN team for organising the Human Factors In Healthcare Conference 2025 in Oxford. A day of incredible speakers and lots of interesting discussion around human factors and surgical safety. A huge thank you to everyone involved!
Outstanding Human Factors course featuring surgeons, military and aviation experts sharing insights on functional resilience, servant leadership, just culture, second victims, four-day week and integrating HF training into surgical curricula @HumanFactorsSN@BrennanSurgeon
Really enjoyed attending this conference with a myriad of interesting speakers. Definitely has given me a lot of food for thought and hopefully will be able to share learning with @RWT_NHS
How do we look after others when we’re not looking after ourselves. Thank you @DrDaleford for talking about the 4 day working week. Maintained efficiency with better employee wellbeing. Can we do this in the NHS?
Following the theme of support after adverse events, @wrenbarbara leading the Schwartz Round. Fantastic audience engagement exploring the human impact of healthcare work. Wonderful insights gained from audience and panel input.
Lunch & a chance to catch up with delegates and talk all things human factors & patient safety at our conference in Oxford
And finally met Charlotte in person!
Afternoon session here we come 😀
Such an interesting morning listening to @langley_sharp and his vast experience in military leadership alongside many other brilliant speakers! @HumanFactorsSN
What a day so far. With more to come! @Kevin_Fong delivering his superb talk. Assessing risk properly, understanding beyond the headlines, how far we’ve come in patient safety and why aviation and health care are not totally interchangeable.
Fascinating to hear @langley_sharp sharing extensive experiences in military leadership. A lot of food for thought in applying these experiences to health care and the operating theatre.
An absolutely brilliant start to our human factors conference in Oxford
Superb speakers, great subjects and so much to think about
Enjoying every second 🤪
A wonderful opening talk from @HelenEHigham. The need to change the culture from “Human Error causes failure” to identifying system vulnerabilities that allow them to happen.
@BrennanSurgeon setting the tone for the day with his welcome presentation. Themes of respect, culture, managing scenarios where deviance is normalised. More fantastic talks to come!
Looking forward to speaking at this wonderful conference in Oxford on Monday and creating a space to explore the impact of the content and contexts of healthcare work. #heathcare#humanfactors#psychology#surgery
