@PowerBruteHQ Why the base decides recovery: the fuel a ten second burst runs on, phosphocreatine, is rebuilt only with oxygen. About half comes back in 30 seconds and most within three minutes, faster in muscle with more mitochondria. Easy miles build the part of the sprint you cannot feel.
@femalelongevity It clears within about a day, so one urine test reflects that week of grain and not a stored load. A repeat after two weeks off corn and oats tells you more than the first. In the one human study, 163 New Jersey girls, higher levels went with later breast development.
@CraigBrockie The separation has a name, syneresis. A 36 hour ferment pushes acidity well past normal yogurt, the protein gel tightens and squeezes out whey, so clumps and liquid mean it worked. Untested so far is the yogurt itself. The oxytocin and skin findings behind it are mouse work.
@BowTiedPhys There is a reason it reads as a signal. The body clock sets hunger lowest near 8am and highest near 8pm, measured in people kept on a 20 hour day so meals and sleep could not explain it. Real morning hunger usually means an earlier, smaller dinner and a full night of sleep.
@SamaHoole The trial that tested it ran in the group told to swim. 101 women past menopause with low bone density lifted heavy fives, deadlift, squat and overhead press, twice a week for eight months. Spine density rose 2.9 percent while the light group lost 1.2. One injury in the study.
@foundmyfitness The lab version agrees. Columbia fed 26 adults controlled meals for three days, then let them choose on day four. After the self-chosen day they took 29 minutes to fall asleep against 17, more fiber tracked with more deep sleep and more saturated fat with less. One day did it.
@AgingBiology Translated: old cells grow large and flat, and AP2A1 helps them hold that shape by anchoring harder to the dish. Knock it down and human skin cells shrink back and drop their aging markers; raise it in young cells and they age early. Cells in a dish, not yet tried in an animal.
@DeanTTraining The split gets the credit and the weekly total does the work. When trials match hard sets per muscle per week, once a week and twice a week grow about the same, and the twice-a-week edge only appears once the weekly volume is more than one session can hold.
@EricTopol@NatureNeuro For anyone not opening it: immune cells trained by a gut infection settle in the brain's outer lining for months and block that bug on repeat exposure. Mice only. The same cell type primed by gut inflammation drove brain inflammation in a 2025 study, so the training sets the job.
@agingdoc1 Plain version: the bacteria that make short chain fatty acids thin out with age and the ones tied to inflammation fill the space. The lever with the best trial behind it is the plate, since ten weeks of fermented foods raised gut diversity while the fiber-only arm did not.
@WilliamWallace Sizing the doubling with your rice figures: 0.64 to 1.65 g per 100 g means a 200 g serving gains about 2 g, against a daily fiber target of 25 to 30 g. Cooked lentils carry close to 8 g per 100 g with no fridge involved. The trick is real, and it sits behind the beans.
@Artfink1@EricTopol Agreed, and that is the case for measuring it once. A high Lp(a) does not decide your outcome, it shifts the odds, about double the heart attack risk at the top levels in the Copenhagen cohorts, and knowing which side you are on changes how hard you work the levers you can move.

Walking slows down as people age and almost everyone reads it as simple decline.
Researchers who put 107 adults through motion capture found that the nervous system is making a deliberate trade, and it makes that trade without consulting you.
Their argument is that leg rehab aims too high on the limb and skips the ankle, which is where the trade is being made.
Slow calf raises off a step, lowering for longer than you lift. Walking on your toes, then your heels. Balance on one leg.
