When salary cuts are necessary, they should start at the top.
Start with politically appointed executives, the people who are there to serve political interests & self interest rather than the public interest. Then move to the rest of the politically appointed positions.
The last people who should bear the burden are the ordinary employees in SOEs who keep these organizations running and do the actual work.
There's absolutely no way this could have been prevented. It's not like you could have installed cameras to identify those responsible and make them pay.
And, of course, an expense that's impossible to audit and verify leaves absolutely no room for corruption.
People who use all kinds of vehicles don’t realize not everyone has equal access to roads or pavements. PWDs deal with this every day in Malé, and Hulhumalé is heading the same way. Police do nothing. Tow the illegally parked vehicles.
As an airport planner, I have raised this even before the terminal opened.
Designs should be consulted with independent consultants before finalising.
This is something consistently seen across Maldives where common sense and operating environment and applicability is ignored
Is there seriously no one that can find a solution for this ? The place is becoming a garbage dump.
It’s going to turn in to a mountain soon.
@hdcmaldives
@Husha_a@hdcmaldives A public space is not your personal dumping ground. The responsibility doesn’t end when you throw something out of your hands. We all have a responsibility to keep our surroundings clean and safe.
@Husha_a@hdcmaldives This is what happens when people prioritise convenience over responsibility. Dumping waste here may seem like a small act to one person, but when hundreds do it, the result is a serious environmental and public health problem.
@Husha_a@hdcmaldives We can’t keep blaming the system while individuals continue creating the problem. Better waste management is necessary, but so is basic accountability from the people throwing their garbage here.
Yeah HDC should do its job and clean up this mess. But let’s also take a moment here to acknowledge that majority of this garage accumulates due to residents who have no sense of responsibility
move in leave their heaps of trash and expect it to disappear
Call pickup ffs
@Husha_a@hdcmaldives It is clearly a people-discipline problem, but it is turning into a health hazard for the whole community, including those who are not involved in creating this garbage mountain.
Enforced actions are needed to stop the dumping; just cleaning up afterwards is not it.
Who even asked for this?
Do we even want to use NID to do payments? Dhauru dhebai mivy digital ID ey kiyain. Mihaaru kon ithuru vakkameh kuran kuraa kameh miee?
@Husha_a@hdcmaldives I suggest that those who dumped these items get together to clean up this mess.
If there is no enforcement from authorities on rules, the people who walk by that area—and choose not to dump their own things while moving—are the ones who suffer.
Let us not joke on the amount of garbage this is. It's an absolute an actual need for a serious action to be taken under consideration.
Let's not mix politics and garbage that can cause serious health issues in Maldivian and everyone around this.

@Husha_a@hdcmaldives If we expect people will become prophets and things will fix then we are wrong. If we wait people to be right then it's waste of time.
Solution: someone just need to take initiative to clean it & these companies to implement extreme rules & enforce on same time.
@Husha_a@hdcmaldives Now that you posted and this is the second post about this, HDC will remove this dump from here & move it somewhere else until someone makes an issue about it! No solution just slacker mentality and no ethics. Not to mention hygiene & safety is subpar! GL when theres an outbreak
