Hi Manoj - Yesterday’s outage was caused by a loss of supply from the provincial grid. Hydro One reported that a circuit tripped while crews attempted to re-energize a high-voltage transmission line. Re-energizing transmission lines is normal practice following scheduled maintenance or repair. When the Hydro One circuit tripped, Hydro Ottawa automatically lost its supply.

Hi there - Yesterday’s outage was caused by a loss of supply from the provincial grid. Hydro One reported that a circuit tripped while crews attempted to re-energize a high-voltage transmission line. Re-energizing transmission lines is normal practice following scheduled maintenance or repair. When the Hydro One circuit tripped, Hydro Ottawa automatically lost its supply.

Earlier this morning, several customers experienced a momentary outage in our service area. This outage was triggered by a downed transmission line (pictured below), which resulted in a temporary loss of supply from the provincial grid. Our crews worked quickly alongside provincial partners to isolate the issue and safely route power back to your homes and businesses. Thank you for your patience and understanding while we got the lights back on.
