Visited Kazakhstan’s National Research Oncology Center (NROC) 🇰🇿 and signed an agreement to strengthen our cooperation in radiation oncology, nuclear medicine, diagnostic imaging, medical physics, radiopharmacy and radiation safety in medicine.
Impressed by the Center and the dedication and commitment of the teams working there. With @IAEAorg support, NROC is becoming an important reference centre for oncology in Central Asia, helping expand training, clinical attachments and capacity-building across the region.
With more than 500 reactor‑years of operating experience accumulated worldwide, fast reactor systems are moving from research and innovation toward industrial application.
Last week, over 550 experts from 42 countries gathered in Beijing for the IAEA International Conference on Fast Reactors and Related Fuel Cycles. Hosted by the China Institute of Atomic Energy, the fifth conference in the series focused on the next phase of fast reactor development and future deployment.

Recently, 30 participants from 28 countries attended an @IAEAorg meeting in #Vienna 🇦🇹 on the use of the Regulatory Authority Information System (RAIS+) and its updated functionalities⚛️ℹ️
Participants shared their experience in using RAIS+ for the control of radiation sources nationally and worldwide, including import and export, while also highlighting its positive impact in strengthening regulatory functions and improving the efficiency of national control systems.
Feedback from the meeting will be considered for future software updates and developments to continuously improve the user experience 🛠️

📢 World Health Assembly adopts resolution on medical imaging
A new World Health Assembly resolution, supported by @IAEAorg, calls for strengthening medical imaging capacity to ensure equitable access for patients.
The resolution, informed by an IAEA-initiated commission, is the first comprehensive global assessment of medical imaging-related needs and resources worldwide.
It urges countries to promote access to medical imaging through investment in infrastructure, workforce development and the safe use of radiation.
