I was in an Australian Politics exam at Melbourne State College. At the end of the exam our lecturer / invigilator told us put put down pens. And said "No matter what answer you gave for Question 3, you have gotten it wrong! Kerr has sacked Gough and Malcolm is PM".

@xskinn Eventually crowds dissipated and I went to my job as a steward at a suburban Bayside RSL club and it was near empty the whole night, as one of the 'lefty' bar flies observed "the toffs to scared to come out tonight”

@xskinn there were so many people I only got as far as State Library before the crowd backed up, there were streams of people coming down the cross streets. Latrobe, Lonsdale, Bourke & Collins all chanting all shocked and angry. Chants calling for Hawke to call a General Strike

@MikeCarlton01 Congratulations well deserved. I have read them all, several times. It would be nice to explore the little ships, corvettes, the WW2 work horses of the RAN. At invasion of Sicily HMAS Gawler & Lismore were sweeping for mines as invasion forces were all most on top of them.
