CSE’s @Shobhit_187 from the Renewable Energy programme spoke at a panel discussion on “Bio-Fuels as a Substitute for Petroleum Fuels: Integrating the Agri and Energy Economies” at the 20th India Energy Summit, organised by the Indian Chamber of Commerce (@ICC_Chamber) in New Delhi on October 13, 2026.

The discussion covered the current policy landscape for biofuels, industry perspectives on adoption and scalability, and the challenges facing the sector.

A key takeaway was the need for effective implementation of the GOBARdhan scheme to scale up the sector. CSE also highlighted two areas that need greater attention:

▪️Inclusion of fertiliser companies as key stakeholders.
▪️Development of markets for biodigestate.
