@JamesWilsonDO1 YES! This! 💯! I say if you’re playing double dutch w/ the idea of intubation (or whatever procedure or test it may be), just make the call & do it. I hate to call it a “gut feeling” (but sometimes art comes from the gut 😆). Gestalt might have been the word I needed all along.
@JamesWilsonDO1@flatley_bill@IM_Crit_@MBrigmon@raj_karnatak Yup! Chose 2 y because of ALL you mentioned: burnout, board prep, QOL. I figured the slower 2 y were gonna be good for me. Thankfully I had to foresight to think about these things. AND 2 y would allow me to work in Canada if/when the time comes.
@JamesWilsonDO1@flatley_bill@IM_Crit_@MBrigmon@raj_karnatak The table is correct:

Going into CCM w/ another IM sub speciality your belt = 1 yr CCM training.
I did IM->ID->CCM (given the option of 1 vs 2 yrs & I chose 2)
@JamesWilsonDO1@WakeForestCCM@RushPulmCC Not sure there is any good lit. I look at it case by case. What is the physiology behind the RVR/tachyarrhythmia? Have we corrected what can be corrected (most often my first thought: is the “tank” full)? Usually I stick with #norepi
