POCACOV OGUN STATE LEADS HIGH-IMPACT YOUTH ENGAGEMENT AT ROYAL AMBASSADOR EPHPHATHA 2026

Aligned with the vision of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, and under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, psc, FCSS, MNIPR, the Ogun State Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) team, led by State Coordinator ASP Oluborode Opeyemi, conducted a comprehensive youth sensitization program during the Royal Ambassador Ogun Baptist Conference (Ephphatha 2026). The high-impact engagement empowered hundreds of teenagers and young adults with critical knowledge to resist negative social pressures, resulting in a collective pledge by all attendees to reject cultism, drug abuse, cybercrime, and related social vices in favor of positive community leadership.

During the interactive sessions, ASP Oluborode Opeyemi and the POCACOV team highlighted the severe, long-term dangers associated with active involvement in cultism, gang violence, substance abuse, cybercrime and other social vices. The team provided real-world insights into how these illegal activities destroy promising futures, compromise personal safety, and undermine peace within academic institutions and broader society.

The sensitization emphasized proactive values centered on self-discipline, constructive peer influence and personal accountability. POCACOV officers urged the young participants to recognize their role as key stakeholders in building safe environments, demonstrating how strong character choices and early ethical leadership serve as the strongest deterrents against criminal temptation.

The engagement concluded with a unanimous pledge from the participating youth, who committed to upholding high moral standards, resisting illicit temptation, and serving as anti-vice ambassadors within their respective schools and communities. POCACOV Ogun State reaffirmed its dedicated mission to continuous community policing and youth-focused preventative outreach across the state.

OGUN STATE POLICE COMMAND HOSTS PIONEER DIRECTOR OF FORCE MEDICAL SERVICES, AIG NKECHI EZE

The Ogun State Police Command hosted the pioneer Director of Force Medical Services, AIG Nkechi Eze, BDS, MPH, fspsp, alongside her team on an official working visit to the Command Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta. Received by the Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, psc, FCSS, MNIPR, the historic visit provided a strategic platform to align local medical operations with the newly elevated healthcare architecture of the Nigeria Police Force.

Speaking during the visit, AIG Nkechi Eze stated that the primary purpose of her tour was to inspect police health facilities and infrastructure across the Ogun State Command to identify areas requiring urgent upgrade and support. Beyond facility assessment, she reaffirmed the Directorate’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery and highlighted key welfare initiatives, notably the "Know Your Numbers" campaign. She urged personnel to take proactive charge of their health through routine blood pressure checks, glucose screenings, and other vital tests to prevent manageable illnesses, while stressing the need for officers to register for compulsory health insurance schemes given the demanding nature of police operations.

In his response, CP Bode Ojajuni expressed deep appreciation to the visiting AIG and commended the Force Medical Services for their vital contributions to the Command's operational successes. Making specific reference to Operation Kọ̀saye, the CP highlighted the instrumental role medical personnel play during field engagements across the state. He also emphasized that opening police medical facilities to the public serves as a key corporate social responsibility initiative that strengthens community relations, which ultimately aids policing efforts across the state.

The visit concluded with a guided tour of the Command’s medical facilities and a group photograph.

OGUN POLICE ARREST TWO ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECTS, RECOVER THREE PISTOLS AND AMMUNITION IN FOLLOW-UP OPERATION

Operatives of the Anti-Robbery Team, Ogun State Police Command have recorded another major breakthrough with the arrest of two suspects, Adeyinka Onakomaya ‘m’ aged 46, and Olayiwola Kehinde ‘m’ aged 48, over their alleged involvement in armed robbery, carjacking, and unlawful possession of firearms. The operation, which follows up on the April 2026 recovery of a stolen red Toyota Matrix, also led to the recovery of three locally made pistols and eighteen (18) live cartridges, significantly disrupting a notorious syndicate operating across Ogun.

The breakthrough is a direct result of relentless operational follow-ups and sustained tactical intelligence mounted by the Command's Anti-Robbery Team following the initial recovery of the red Toyota Matrix vehicle after an armed robbery incident reported in April 2026.

Continuing on the leads established from the initial incident, operatives extended their operational reach and successfully tracked down the two suspects to their respective hideouts in the Babaode area along Idiroko Road, Ota, Ogun State and Command area of Lagos State respectively.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the two arrested suspects, alongside other members of their gang, masterminded the April robbery incident and participated in a series of armed robbery operations and violent vehicle snatchings across Ota, Iju, Babaode, and Atan areas of Ogun State.

Upon their arrest, a thorough search led to the recovery of three (3) locally made pistols and eighteen (18) live cartridges. During interrogation, both suspects confessed to their involvement in various armed robbery crimes within the region and are currently cooperating with detectives by providing useful information to aid the ongoing investigation.

Efforts are being intensified to track down, identify, and arrest other fleeing members of the criminal syndicate for possible prosecution.

The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, psc, FCSS, MNIPR, commended the operatives of the Anti-Robbery Team for their tenacity, operational efficiency, and commitment to follow-up investigations. He noted that the recovery of the firearms and the arrest of key syndicate members underscore the Command’s determination not to leave any criminal investigation incomplete.

The CP reassures residents of Ogun State that the Command remains firm in its resolve to dismantle armed robbery networks and ensure that the State remains unsafe for criminal elements. He urges members of the public to remain vigilant and continuously support the Police by reporting suspicious movements, persons, or activities within their communities via the following channels:
