@steveco87037733@RVL1389@TheEbonyMaw Not disagreeing, but "taking liberties with the truth" when we're talking about fictional deities and gods is a little funny
End of the day the vast majority is gonna love this game and these bunch will still whine about it because they can never stop the grift
@parasense@PlayStation For 2 games it was a former Greek god trying to start over in the lands of Norse gods but now we're getting a simultaneous story of his wife fighting other gods of war while ensuring the path she set out for them.
This is not a side game, but the finale of a trilogy!
@RVL1389@steveco87037733@TheEbonyMaw This Faye is nothing like Laufey of Norse mythology... that's my point.
They took creative liberties with her like they do all the time and if it results in good games, then who cares
@RVL1389@steveco87037733@TheEbonyMaw You're talking about "lore is lore" but Faye doesn't fit any part of actual norse mythology because why would she and why should we care? The game is gonna be fun and that's literally all that matters
@RVL1389@steveco87037733@TheEbonyMaw They took so many creative liberties with Norse mythology to make it better fit their game/world so in that case "lore isn't lore"?
But when it comes to playing as his badass wife *against* a different god of war and possibly others, that's where "lore is lore", right? 🙄
@Unnamed_Mortal@CultureCrave A man's fictional story is "just objectively not true"
Wild revelations on twitter today, I wonder what's next... you gonna convince me that the sky is blue or something
@stormfall33 or a mission ending in a way the didn't intend but often from the perspective of getting all the trophies we are sometimes screwed if things don't go our way. Big example is W3 for example, it requires a certain outcome from several quests and they compound as you go on. (2/2)
@stormfall33 I'd like to add the trophy/achievement hunting perspective to this discourse.
Often there are trophies that require you to remain undetected and sometimes even get certain questline outcomes, whereas "normal" players might just deal with the consequences of getting caught (1/2)
@JuvbZ@MichaelDoesLife The Glacier engine is one of the best when it comes to handling many NPCs at once without impacting performance. There's several levels in this game that showcase that beautifully
@N3OCK1@D2_Director It's not so much that they "deleted them" and more they never remade them when they updated their lighting engine.
That'd be far too ambitious for how little it was played by most of the playerbase.
I wanted the raids back, but I understand why it's not possible.
@TheIshikawaRin@WCat755057 When the day comes, I concur that they should make it playable offline but until then a core part of the experience is playing the game online and Bungie is in no rush to shut down their cashcows.
@TheIshikawaRin@WCat755057 It's never *on a whim* is my point.
As for Destiny 1, Bungie could've shut that down years ago. They could've shut it down now with the announcement of D2's end of live service updates and yet they didn't! (1/2)
