@TheLastNeocon It confuses me why the vice president ever became a Catholic considering the Catholic Church places a lot of importance on universal aid for the poor. Also sorry to be nitpicky but Vance seems to advocate Aquinas's ordo caritatis instead of Augustine's Ordo Amoris.
@BarneyFlames I suppose it's t's true in a sense. The French crown would have claimed a similar right over people born in its lands. Though this is very much abstract. Due to borders not really being enforced in the 1000's
@ArchysLife Too be fair Catholic socialism was and is a thing that in its heyday was supported by at least some clergy. Though I do believe there arguments were less about Christ specifically and more the apostles and early church.
@MakeUSAVAT@TheLastNeocon But then that shuts people who do think immigration is a right out of the discussion just acting like that viewpoint doesn't exist, does not make that true.
@BarneyFlames This also doesn't include the large reduction in investment and the fact that ,ore businesses started to struggle due to the increased bureaucracy to export things to Europe.
@LinkofSunshine Also parts of Europe would not have considered themselves racially homogeneous. Due to them viewing different ethnic groups how we view race today.
@BasedIllinoisan I don't think that's true no one would deny the patriotism of a lot of the revolutionaries of the 17 and 1800s however that didn't mean they didn't actively try to undermine there national government and standing on the world stage.
@whoseurlefty@RisingActionRA The Russian imperial project in Ukraine is not that different from the Israeli project in Gaza. Both candidates seem unsupportible if they each support a different invasion.
@DutchChrInd I'm not convinced I feel as though the British government has yet to turn up actual material proof that what there doing will improve children's mental health.
@AustinHoney30 I think it's hard to find a label to stick on Peltola. She is certainly a populist however she is focused on alaska specific issues it's hard to find a label past that. Issues in Alaska are just so different then those in the rest of America.
@denimneverdies I say progressive because the concept of only allowing fault divorce and rejecting violent retribution were rather radical at the time. There was a reason over 2/3rd's of the early church were women, Christians were seen as the most pro-women group at the time.
