@_mpla_@zvzg1@proudkafirG Thank you for helping me understand the distinction. I appreciate you taking the time to explain it in a thoughtful and constructive manner, unlike most arguments that happen online
@_mpla_@zvzg1@proudkafirG@grok Thank you. That makes sense. I do still question that sound maturity and zero harm can be achieved in a consummated marriage between a 9 year old and a 53 year old. But I understand the theological issue better now
@_mpla_@zvzg1@proudkafirG I think I outlined my argument better in another reply. I'm well aware that morals change over time and that generally it's not fair to judge. I was just under the impression that the Quran and therefore the actions of the prophet who delivered it are of an eternal moral standard
@_mpla_@zvzg1@proudkafirG@grok Therefore, explaining away his actions as being from a different time. Is at best dishonest and at worst blasphemous. I just don't see how it's not a contradictory line of thought but I'm very happy to hear how I'm incorrect
@_mpla_@zvzg1@proudkafirG@grok You're right and I could have worded my argument better. I'm trying to say that the laws of the Quran are eternal and that Muhammad as the prophet and the only person to directly receive the Quran is the best example of what behaviour is therefore eternally permissible 1/2
@_mpla_@zvzg1@proudkafirG The mosaic laws are kind of invalidated by Jesus's death. It's kind of the whole point of Christianity. It's the same reason why Christian's don't follow all the laws of the Old Testament. I'm also not Christian anyway
@_mpla_@zvzg1@proudkafirG Mary's husband Joseph was not Christian. Her age is never directly stated in the Bible or other central religious texts either and the Birth of Jesus is explicitly stated as virginal. Christ never directly spoke on marriage law beyond it being a sacred covenant either
@_mpla_@zvzg1@proudkafirG The prophet engaged in child marriage. Therefore, not only is child marriage eternally permissible but the moral standards of the prophet suggest that it should be encouraged and adhered to
@_mpla_@zvzg1@proudkafirG Making child marriage morally permissible at all in an eternal text means that it can be morally permissible at any time in human history. It means that at any time under Islamic law you are allowed to engage in it. The prophet is the moral standard that should be adhered to
@_mpla_@zvzg1@proudkafirG Except the prophet was directly receiving the eternal will of Allah. As Allah's final messenger he was the one receiving the permanent and eternal laws and morals that Allah wanted to give to humanity. Suggesting otherwise is at best dishonest and at worst blasphemy
@_mpla_@zvzg1@proudkafirG The teachings and actions of the prophet are supposed to be eternal as they are the last teachings of Allah given onto humanity. The historically it was standard practice argument doesn't work when we're supposed to believe that his actions are eternally righteous
I'm sick to my stomach. The far left is attempting to kill this innocent cat with a massive hammer. Their evil knows no bounds. They must be totally destroyed.
