🌏According to new data from @WorldResources and
@UofMaryland, earth lost 9.2 million acres of tropical forest last year.
Yet amid these sobering findings, there are signs of hope: Two countries are bucking worldwide trends.

We have just published a detailed description of the content of https://t.co/EqkHQAVIAP - an online database of European vegetation, habitat types and flora. This database contains updated official versions of the standard classification of European vegetation, governed by the IAVS Working Group European Vegetation Survey, and the updated versions of the EUNIS Habitat Classification, governed by the European Environment Agency. Moreover, it contains extensive data on European plant species, including biological traits and ecological characteristics. The database is a joint product of the Vegetation Science Group at Masaryk University and the IAVS Working Group European Vegetation Survey.

#IPCC#ClimateReport shows heatwaves in Europe will become more frequent, more intense & will last longer.
By 2050, about half of the European population may be exposed to high or very high risk of heat stress during summer.

Every decision counts, every day🙌
The #biodiversity crisis is largely undervalued. Today, most of our attention is focused on climate change.
Yet these crises are interrelated and must be addressed together.
It's time we talk about biodiversity, and it begins through education.

🌳 The loss of #forests threatens the survival of many species and reduces their ability to provide essential services.
Over half of the tropical forests worldwide have been destroyed since the 1960s.
Forest landscape restoration can reverse these losses.
