@MartinSLewis The root cause of low income may be young carers missing school, lack of employment opportunities in the area, poor support for additional needs in schools, or the high levels of disability brought on through local factors. Many possibilities. However, still needs money to fix.
Everyone keeps talking about covid becoming endemic, but as I listen to the conversation, it’s becoming more & more clear to me that very few of you know what “endemic” means.
So here’s a thread on how pandemics end.
100% this!! Why are people so fixated on death?? Covid changes lives, some people are never the same again. Whether someone dies or survives is not the only issue here!!
@carrielocker12 Yes, but that means it finds 2 thirds more people than we would find if we didn't test staff asymptomaticaly at all. It's good for identifying positives but people must still act on symptoms with PCR testing regardless.
@HyndburnCouncil can you please confirm that this the advice being given to local bars and restaurants by your health protection practitioner is correct? It appears to contradict local lockdown rules. @dr_sakthi is this a Lancashire wide stance?
@drphilhammond Well suddenly all the sepsis cases suddenly disappeared, it would be my guess that they held out on accessing services for too long sadly.
@CIBSE_NatVent Oh yes I fully agree, all evidence I have seen points to aerosol. Until they officially advertise this many will believe it to be droplets. They put so much emphasis on the 'droplet zone' that people will take chances they might not take if they knew about lingering aerosols.
@CIBSE_NatVent Wow! I had totally missed that and I assume many others have too, given the number of webinars and such like I've seen where this is still being discussed as a 'possibility'. Thanks.
@MackayIM Not much longer now until they can start blaming the flu vaccines. They will of course believe that extra elements have been added. The current mantra is about the number of test results also including those with the common cold 🤦♀️.
TEACHERS
Q: How will you know if your classroom is getting enough fresh air?
A: You can use a low-cost CO2 sensor in your classroom to see if you are hitting these ventilation targets during the day.
