UK military personnel are now being deployed to arrest Nanyuki protesters. The UK flag on the uniform indicates a special unit remotely recruited to serve British interests in Kenya.
Peru's indigenous Aymara region will not recognise the elections if Fujimori wins, because she has already lost the popular vote within the country. If she wins it'll be due to those from abroad, not in Peru.
Protests & strikes are coming to defend the country's majority.
🚨🇮🇱🇵🇸 While the Trump administration - along with governments across Europe and the Middle East - is focused on the escalating crisis with Iran, the Israeli cabinet is expected to approve on Thursday a plan to fund the de facto establishment of 61 new settlements in the occupied West Bank, according to a draft government decision I obtained.
🚨🇮🇱🇵🇸 Why it matters: A source familiar with the proposal said the government is expected to allocate more than $350 million over several years to move 61 newly authorized settlements from paper to reality.
🚨🇮🇱🇵🇸 The plan would fund temporary residential compounds, public buildings and infrastructure even before formal planning procedures are completed, marking one of the most significant settlement expansion moves in decades.
🚨🇮🇱🇵🇸 The proposal is being championed by far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich. The timing is significant: the government is seeking to approve the funding before a possible vote to dissolve the Knesset and trigger new elections - a scenario that could make large-scale budget allocations substantially more difficult.
🚨🇮🇱🇵🇸 Between the lines: Many of the settlements included in the proposal are located in strategically sensitive areas, including along Highway 90 in the Jordan Valley, in the South Hebron Hills, and in locations designed to create territorial continuity between existing settlements. Such a move further undermines the prospect of a future Palestinian state.
🚨🇮🇱🇵🇸 Rather than merely granting formal recognition to new settlements, the government would begin simultaneously funding housing, infrastructure and public services for dozens of communities - a move that could significantly reshape the map of the West Bank over the coming years.
🚨🇮🇱🇵🇸 Zoom in: Under the plan, the government would finance temporary settlement sites that include mobile homes, public facilities, community infrastructure and support services.
🚨🇮🇱🇵🇸 The proposal would also fund development work for the permanent settlements expected to follow, including roads, utilities and other core infrastructure.
🚨🇮🇱🇵🇸 The significance of the proposal lies not only in the number of settlements involved, but also in the government's decision to begin physical implementation before completing the full statutory planning process.
🚨🇮🇱🇵🇸 The proposal follows a government decision approved last week that allocated roughly $35 million for planning and regulatory work related to the same settlements. The new proposal moves beyond planning and into implementation.
🚨🇮🇱🇵🇸 In practice, it would allow the government to establish temporary settlement sites while planning procedures are still underway, creating facts on the ground that could later evolve into permanent settlements.
🚨🇮🇱🇵🇸 The big picture: The move comes amid a broader effort by the Israeli government to strengthen its hold over Area C of the West Bank and accelerate settlement expansion.
🚨🇮🇱🇵🇸 It also follows a series of cabinet decisions over the past year authorizing dozens of new settlements, representing the largest wave of settlement approvals in years.
NEW: Our visual analysis suggests the United States hit two drinking-water facilities overnight in southern Iran with precision-guided munitions. Deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure could constitute a war crime. w/ @ckoettl@johnismay@ArtemisChats
Sudanese war victims have filed a landmark criminal complaint in Kenya against members of the UAE-backed Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia for alleged war crimes, including torture and s*xual violence.
The complaint, submitted to Kenya’s Director of Public Prosecutions, involves 12 survivors urging that charges be brought against 10 RSF members suspected of residing in Kenya.
The alleged atrocities took place in and around Sudan's capital, Khartoum, during the RSF's occupation between April 2023 and March 2025.
The victims describe being held in inhumane conditions, beaten, burned, electrocuted, and subjected to gang r*pe. Some were forced to transport dead bodies.
Legal Action Worldwide (LAW), which filed the case, argues Kenya can prosecute under its International Crimes Act of 2008.
This is significant given the challenges facing Sudan's judicial system, with the International Criminal Court (ICC) 's jurisdiction limited to the Darfur region of western Sudan rather than to Khartoum.
However, the case has created diplomatic tension, as Kenyan President William Ruto has been accused of siding with the RSF after hosting RSF leader Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, also known as "Hemedti".
Furthermore, Kenya hosts the RSF-led Tasees coalition, which aims to form a parallel government in parts of Sudan under the UAE-backed militia's control.
Rights groups argue Kenya should not be a "safe haven for war criminals".
The Director of Public Prosecutions has 30 days to decide whether to open a formal investigation.

The findings strengthen the calls for the EU to end imports of these products, as required by international law.
🇰🇪🇺🇸 | Kenyan police shot dead a protester as hundreds demonstrated against a US quarantine facility in Nanyuki.
The facility is for US nationals exposed to Ebola. Not for Kenyans.
The protester was shot in the head and at least 19 people were arrested, according to Reuters, at the site where the US is building a 50-bed unit at Laikipia Air Base.
Kenya has no Ebola case of its own; the unit would hold US nationals exposed to the virus in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. It runs on roughly KSh 1.68 billion — about USD 13 million in US aid.
This is not the first killing: on 1 June police shot two protesters dead and arrested 31. Demonstrators call their country a "dumping ground" and have vowed to march until the plan is scrapped.
Washington says it "cannot and will not allow" any cases to enter US territory. Kenyan President William Ruto calls the deal "mutually beneficial" — while his own police keep killing the Kenyans who refuse it.
Just in: A video from inside a court in occupied Jerusalem shows Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya appearing via video link and attempting to speak with his attorney before Israeli court security blocked the screen and terminated the call, preventing journalists from filming the exchange or the video appearance.
I listened carefully to what the attorney was saying to Dr. Abu Safiya. It appeared that Dr. Abu Safiya could not hear him. The attorney repeatedly stated that he could neither see nor hear Dr. Abu Safiya after his “captors turned off the camera.” He also informed him that some people were present in the courtroom to show their support and that they were waiting for the judge to arrive so that he could be brought back on screen before the court addressed the appeal.
This is Israel’s democracy. Dr. Abu Safiya has been subjected to starvation, abuse, and cruel torture, and this latest development only adds to concerns about the conditions he has endured and the lack of public scrutiny surrounding his case.
🇨🇴 Colombian President Gustavo Petro was temporarily removed from office until June 21
The decision was made in connection with the head of state's alleged interference in the presidential campaign. The measure is supposed to be in effect until the completion of the second round of elections, but its legal justification is controversial.
It's about a violation of Article 33, which concerns presidential neutrality during the election campaign. Petro was accused of making statements that were interpreted as election campaigning. The reason for the investigation was a post on social media, where the incumbent president publicly supported a left-wing candidate, calling him a "savior of Colombian democracy".
Petro himself called the removal a "political conspiracy of the oligarchy" and refused to leave the presidential palace, promising not to obey the "illegal decision". The police have not yet used force. The opposition announced its intention to file a lawsuit for Petro's final removal, although experts admit that there are not enough legal grounds for this.
The famine in Gaza never ended, it was re-engineered since the “ceasefire.” Small amounts of food come in through commercial trucks and are sold at high prices, and a big portion of those trucks are filled with junk food and empty calories. Support here: https://t.co/6l9JFjWInX
Just last week, an international organization stopped half a million meals per day in Gaza. Without these meals, Palestinians in Gaza have no alternative!
The Sameer Project has witnessed a huge drop in donations forcing us to reduce our food production by 50% and we stopped serving meat in the meals due to the high prices. Aid is being reduced by all organizations and those most vulnerable are paying the price.

The Communist Party of Britain condemns the recent wave of racist violence in Belfast and Glasgow. These attacks on black families and migrant communities are pogroms. They are a direct and deliberate echo of the sectarian pogroms seen in the 1960s and 70s.
The far right is using this violence to divide working-class communities. They are supported by billionaire-owned social media platforms that spread disinformation to protect the interests of the ruling class.
We call on the labour and trade union movement to organise and stand in solidarity with those under attack. The real cause of the crisis in housing, healthcare, and jobs is the capitalist system, not our neighbours.
No to racist violence. Build working-class unity.

The ‘Great Israeli Real Estate Event’ is to be held in London this Sunday.
This disgraceful event will involve the sale of land stolen from Palestinians in illegal Israeli settlements.
Today, I called for the Government to ban this event.
Breaking, dangerous and of utmost importance.
We have heard from a reliable source that there is indeed a US proposal to replace/annul Jordanian custodianship over Al Aqsa/Temple Mount, corroborating a May 25 report in Mideast Eye: https://t.co/ha29YSHmXH
We have been told that a document has been circulated proposing to replace Jordanian custodianship with that of a consortium of international/interfaith parties, including Muslim/Arab and Jewish representatives, and coming from Jared Kushner/Arieh Lightstone or those closely in their orbit.
We have also been informed that the proposal was circulated among regional stakeholders and has encountered fierce opposition.
This is part of a video we have obtained as our teams continue to document dozens of cases of children who were targeted and sniped in #Gaza. Dr Hussam Abu Safiya, a pediatrician who saved countless lives, is now in solitary confinement, tortured for months. The same doctor who held a bullet from a child’s neck now waits for the world to save him.

"Dahiyeh neighbourhood, which is the southern part of Beirut, the Hezbollah stronghold.."
Dahiyeh is a residential neighbourhood full of apartment blocks, shops, cafes & businesses. Calling it a Hezbollah stronghold is language designed to make it a legitimate target.
Israeli strikes that killed Reuters video journalist Issam Abdallah and injured six other journalists cannot be dismissed as a “mistake.” Why did Israeli forces attack a clearly identifiable group of journalists in southern Lebanon. https://t.co/3vOKPLRKBv
