There are over 4,000 foster families caring for children across Scotland 👩👦
It was great to meet a some Edinburgh foster carers who are part of @IWGBSFCWUnion at @ScotParl last week. We need to continue to support them in the essential role that they play in children’s lives.
Today the @IWGBunion will fight to get the £1million in holiday pay 45 TDL couriers have been denied. We will be represented by Gen Sec @MoyerLee and this sums up the IWGB. The Gen Sec storms loading bays with us and stands in court to represent us. We are all in this together✊
Heading to York and Sheffield on Wednesday to ratify two sub branches and talk to couriers about the rights they are being denied and the better pay we can get if we unite and push back against the blatant exploitation of #deliveroo and the like. Please share with anyone local ✊

Actor Samantha Morton speaks out against #privatisation in social care.
"If we continue to privatise children's homes or any aspect of care of other people and we monetise it, it becomes a very dangerous game."

We live in a wealthy country where millions are condemned to insecurity and low pay.
That's why it's so important to support @UCL outsourced workers demanding good terms, conditions and pay.

Turned out to be a really productive meeting. Foster carers confidently speaking about the impact that these changes will have for them and the children they care for. Commitment from the council to hold meaningful and regular consultation going forward
Heading to Stirling this morning to facilitate a meeting between foster carers facing pay cuts and their local MSPs and councillors. Time and again fcs and their children are an easy target when money is to be saved. No rights = No protection for foster carers #fostering
@FosterCareColl @YouthWorkerBish @HeatherOttaway @selwyn_j@fosteringnet We have a meeting with @fosteringnet tomorrow. Happy to ask them if they are researching foster carer burn out. Feedback from our members would suggest that many carers are struggling but too afraid to ask for help

At midnight I was sacked by Asda after 13 years. Not for doing anything wrong but for refusing to sign a new contract agreeing to work whatever days, hours and Bank holidays that suits them that week. Not asked, told. Sign it or you're fired.
Are you next?
