Basically 'comply or die' because, as the text recognises, withdrawal of warmth is soul death in those fractured moments in a life when carrying on is near impossible.

Physical health and mental health should have equity in the workplace, but they are not the same and require different approaches, support and care.

When it comes to dealing with “mental health” in the workplace it’s often diagnosis & medicalisation of distress. We need a shift in approach, a more human & relational approach. Stop the labels, referrals & sicknote approach.
"...we benefit from a trauma-informed environment – a paradigm shift from our obsession with labelling what is wrong to asking: 'What happened to you?' – that is welcoming and not too sensorily overwhelming".

This is gold.
I grew up reading @richroll and @feelthebyrn1 back before social media was even a thing.
Back then I thought they were teaching me about endurance sport but they were actually teaching me about life.
So much love for both of these dudes:

The unnecessary pathologisation, depoliticisation & individualisation of emotional distress isn't just the way of much psychiatry, but of much psychology & often therapy. These disciplines aren't billiard balls bouncing off each other, but are colours often blending upon a page.
'Mental illness' isn't a 'myth', it’s rather a 'symbol' - a phrase used to denote certain kinds of severe emotional pain. Framed thus, the biological status of 'mental Illness' is a far less pressing concern than the ‘social life’, power implications & human impact of the symbol.
The IICSA report @InquiryCSA did not get the coverage it deserves. Real change will only be achieved once the recommendations are implemented and all who contributed deserve to be heard. #CSA#IICSAConcludingReport
