Tear gas and water cannon have been used to disperse protesters in Hong Kong critical of a new security law, as residents consider moving to Australia. https://t.co/zmMnaC3lkc
You are ignoring an important fact, @PDChina, namely the fact, that the PRC is bound by its international obligations under the Sino-British Joint Declaration. The PRC is in breach of these obligations as it demolishes the "high degree of autonomy" that it accepted for Hong Kong.
I have written for @ConHome about how China is preparing to strip Hong Kong of its autonomy, doing so while we are preoccupied with the virus.
We must be prepared to provide Hong Kongese British National Overseas (BNO) passport holders with a quicker path to full UK citizenship.
HONG KONG MATTERS!
With @benedictrogers & @hk_watch we worked to mobilise 203 political leaders from 23 countries to sign a joint statement led by the former Governor of Hong Kong Lord Pattern & the former British Foreign Secretary Sir Malcolm Rifkind 1/3

China’s government has finally shown it’s true colors by wiping out their promise of “One China-Two Systems” with #HongKong through the imposition of “national security legislation” that is really an attempt to squash this bastion of liberty. https://t.co/fAFikbnLGG
This is the right move by @BorisJohnson.
Keeping Huawei out of the UK’s 5G network is vital to ensuring Communist China can’t steal their data and extend their influence across the world. https://t.co/o4dSlmzFHG
ICYMI: Yesterday, @RepMichaelWaltz and I led our @housesciencegop colleagues writing to @CISAgov and the @FBI requesting a briefing on the Chinese Communist Party's targeting of American research institutions and companies.
China's actions are a clear danger!

Communist China is attempting to steal or sabotage U.S. research for a vaccine.
We must protect American research, which is why I introduced the COVID-19 Vaccine Protection Act. We can’t turn a blind eye to China.
It’s time for the United States to reevaluate how we do business with China.
We’ve got to look at this with fresh eyes and realize that in many areas, China has not been playing by the same set of rules as the rest of the world.
Boris Johnson is to claw back Huawei’s involvement in Britain’s 5G network after extraordinary pressure from Tory backbenchers in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. https://t.co/b6Jje9oRAx
