Great introductory meeting between the new chair of the Scottish Commission on Social Security @SallyCEOIncScot and #SSAC's @IanDiamond11 & @victodd. Good discussion on our respective roles and responsibilities, and opportunities for close working relationships going forward.
Really good informal meeting this morning with the Convenor and Deputy Convenor of @SP_SocialSecur at which we discussed a range of issues of mutual interest. Thank you @BobDorisSNP and @pauline4glasgow.
Had an informative series of meetings with @S_A_Somerville and her @scotgov officials today. Impressed by their involvement of 2,500 users of the social security system to help inform the design and delivery of policy. And pleased to hear about constructive relationship with @DWP

New @DWP Secretary of State acknowledges problems in UC & makes it her mission to address them - helping to deliver fair, compassionate & efficient benefit system. I look forward to working with you @AmberRuddHR - & to an early mtg where we can discuss these issues. Ian Diamond
As always, the detail of the Regulations translating @DWP plans for #UniversalCredit managed migration is where the critical examination by @The_SSAC will be. @IanDiamond11 tells the @CommonsWorkPen that @The_SSAC will be scrutinising the revised Regs at next meeting on 12 Dec.
ICYMI: SSAC Chair @IanDiamond11, and Committee member @victodd, gave evidence on Universal Credit managed migration to @CommonsWorkPen yesterday. Watch replay here: https://t.co/eJSNtQNbL6
@The_SSAC@IanDiamond11@victodd@CommonsWorkPen It is nice to see Ian and Victoria 'get it' and are really considering the impacts on vulnerable and that covers a wide scope - people at risk whether health, home, financial status already dire, obviously - but as UC is linked to suicides - it really needs scrapping.
