@David_Moscrop@BetaDecayPlus I haven't done as much with corridors, but I did lead Vancouver's work in building out its urban infrastructure strategy. Ping me if interested.
Really important charts from @colinmckerrache and @hyper_drive today
1. Internal combustion engine car sales peaked 6 years ago (and are now about where they were in 2010!)
2. China ICE car sales also peaked 6 years ago
EVs are the auto industry's growth

After what I think has been a pretty successful decade in creating & implementing EV and Climate Policy, I've decided to take a break. Starting today I'm heading off on a 6-month sabbatical. Will try to keep my tweets sparse, pointless and bike-oriented.
@CAHiggins Interesting…. I’d thought 208V DCFCs were extinct! Would be helpful to know what network they operate on (or whether they are OCPP and could integrate into our existing system).
@FernandoLeft We're planning to update our rules to allow for energy-based billing at our DCFCs in the coming months (in parallel with the MC update). For Vancouver and other high-use areas, the trick will be creating fees that also discourage squatting after the battery is full.
Once more for the folks in back: bringing your own mug is not a climate solution!
Do it anyway because trees and oceans are great and landfills aren’t.
There's never been a better time to consider electrifying your fleet! Attend one of our webinars for fleet managers to learn more:

Exciting news! Courtesy of IHS Markit, ONE IN FOUR new vehicles purchased in Vancouver (CMA) last quarter was an EV! All of Canada saw 8.9% of sales, which is where Vancouver was just a few years ago. Tipping point, coming soon... https://t.co/Lxl3G5LGbG
Auto insurance seems like a pretty strong candidate for privatization. Why exactly is auto insurance (and hence the risks from auto use) socialized in BC when home and renters insurance isn't? #priorities https://t.co/4xXXw9j4Va
I see @Toyota's chief scientist Gill Pratt everywhere with his seemingly 'sober' claim that scarce lithium should be used in small batteries for hybrid cars (that Toyota is market leader in of course).
He's calling out "EV-only extremists".
And it's such utter bollox.

Active transportation on the chopping block in the District of #northvan. The agenda for Mondays workshops shows key safe route for people biking between #LynnValley, #LynnCreek and #DeepCove off the table, while road widening on Dollarton Hwy is added.
. @FishOceansCAN, which has 1,500 vehicles in 400 bureaus across the country, had bought two electric @chevrolet Bolts in 2019. But last September, it added three @Tesla Model 3s and six @FordCanada F-150 Lightning trucks.

@CAHiggins@martingravel@ProjectEND@TurnerFleischer Other thing to keep in mind is that if you don't build it new, you're punting a 3 to 10-fold cost increase to future owners who have to retrofit. Those might be the folks waiting for cheaper or used EVs: potentially those most in need of support to switch to an EV.
@CAHiggins@martingravel@ProjectEND@TurnerFleischer Costs vary by building type and location, but data we have shows load sharing in Van costs ~$300-800/stall, or ~1/8 - 1/4 the cost of dedicated L2 circuits ( larger MURBs, even cheaper than L1). As @CAHiggins said, every stall gets them: rental, social housing, or luxury condo.
