@cybusMan@AzelfDaGirl The issue Kemp faces is the republican brand (during a midterm where the new democratic base has become very good at turning out) and the competence of Ossoff. He might not lose but it would be a toss up and challenging race if he chooses to go for senate.
@HassiOnTheMoon @_IAmInvictus @IamSean90 Laws that enforce judeo christain values are homosexuality was criminalised, it was a main justification for prohibition and the requirement that women get the husband’s permission to divorce. Religious morality is as subjective as the moral guidelines of any atheist.
@skywalkr274 @jcsalomon@esrtweet@DrewSav He had a small chance. Palin initially helped it, but once she talked to the media, she became a huge mistake. Regardless of whether he would've won, Palin did not help his chances.
@jcsalomon@esrtweet@DrewSav McCain was fighting an election in the worst circumstances against a ridiculously good candidate. Palin tied him to the opposite ideas to those he’d staked his career on and killed his credibility. She was a bad pick.
@Liquid_Times@VJMPub I don’t know how you can blame Clark and Ardern when NZ is one of very few OECD countries without a growing far right. NZ Labour had a bad election but hasn’t had a fundamental shift in working class support against them.
@TexanCouncilist@SamiTalks I think part of the problem is Democrats had a really good ground game in red states up until the red wave in 2010. Heitkamp was strong but part of a dying part.
@NeilAxelrod @casey39740474 @Redistrict OK, but you haven't provided an actual reason it is bad. Absentee ballots must be sent in by election day—the same as everyone else. There is no reason that that is a problem. It was also not 50% absentee ballots.
@ColMustard88 @NateSilver538 I think the point is that Alaska is intensely independent. It does weird things sometimes. It has consistently rejected MAGA (and even Palin now). It's the republican equivalent of Maine if the GOP candidate was a moderate, really unlikely but possible.
@MikeRinaldiJr@TronVTron@Redistrict@CookPolitical There is literally zero chance Dems will keep WV. Manchin was barely a Democrat and still gonna lose, when mainstream Dems run they lose in landslides.
@Supersonic_OG@Doctor_Dray_@androo829@esjesjesj He wasn't particularly centrist. He just got killed. That's it. His legacy is entirely tied to the fact that his presidency was forcefully ended before the consequences of decisions like Vietnam had been seen.
@mockdisasterttv@androo829@esjesjesj All your political opinions are terrible but you did prove the problem. Everyone has to have an opinion, an outlook based on values. There are binary choices that must be made you can't just listen to both sides and always make everyone happy.
@TalaricoStan@firebornnn How? Best case scenario Tester and all the other swing state incumbents win and dems get a 50-50 split in the senate. Winning Texas or Florida is less likely than Biden actually winning the election which is not gonna happen.
@PaulusWessex @sandramay353 @TheSpinoffTV Also as I said the press pass is connected to all of those rights which are key to our free press, it’s a random shut down of media scrutiny at a time when they’re passing vast loads of legislation under urgency.
@PaulusWessex @sandramay353 @TheSpinoffTV The editors had every intention to use the pass a lot. Salient does a large amount of news reporting and the prior editor did use it. The reason made no sense, they randomly cancelled a press pass, by the way they also never informed Salient or VUWSA of the reason.
@PaulusWessex @sandramay353 @TheSpinoffTV Their press pass is being revoked. That’s more than just sitting at the seats in parliament. It’s press releases and the ability to attend press conferences. Without any good reason, just the random selection of student journalism as not being important.
