🚨Tragedy in Dadyal: One Killed, 14 Injured in Firing by Pakistani Rangers
DADYAL, Pakistan-administered Kashmir – Tensions escalated sharply in the Dadyal area of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on 5th July 2026 as Pakistani Rangers opened fire on protesters, resulting in at least one fatality and leaving 14 others injured.
According to local sources, the security forces, including personnel from the Punjab Rangers, used AK-47 rifles and tear gas shells to disperse the crowd. The incident occurred during what witnesses describe as a protest in the region.
The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Yaqub. The condition of the injured individuals remains unconfirmed at this time, and authorities have yet to issue an official statement regarding the circumstances that led to the use of live ammunition.
The situation in Dadyal remains tense as residents react to the violence. Further details are awaited.
PAKISTAN: Today marks the twelfth consecutive day of the internet shutdown in Pakistan-administered Jammu and Kashmir, with mobile network services intermittently disrupted.
The internet shutdown, imposed since 5 June, in response to a call for protest by the Jammu and Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee, has resulted in an information blackout, disrupting people’s access to information and essential services and preventing documentation of human rights violations in the region. Amnesty International urges the authorities to immediately restore all communication services. Blanket or total internet cuts are inherently disproportionate under international human rights law and must never be imposed.
Further, there are reports of a physical blockade, also imposed in response to the call for protest, of key entry points into the region that have disrupted the delivery of essential goods, including food supplies and medicine. Such restrictions are disproportionate and severely impact people’s rights to life, access to healthcare, and freedom of movement. Pakistani authorities must immediately lift the restrictions on movement and communication and restore unhindered access to the region.
Deeply disturbed by the news coming from across the LoC. The killing of more than a dozen protesting civilians and police personnel is extremely sad. The Government there should know better than to use force to handle public grievance and demands in this manner.
When people take to the streets to express their concerns, it is a signal that they seek to be heard. It is the responsibility of those in authority to listen, engage and peacefully resolve the matter, rather than allow it to escalate into violence, arbitrary arrests and loss of life.
Hope and pray that better sense prevails and the matter is handled with maturity while addressing the concerns of the people.
Leaked document shows that the Pakistani military-backed government stopped polling results from coming out in Gilgit-Baltistan elections. Reports of massive rigging have poured in from the region.
@essel1 Oh fuck off with your lame shit reasons. In this country it seems everyone is funded by India to the point we might just be part of India because right now everyone is an Indian agent.
@ForeignOfficePk The Kashmir dispute remains unresolved, so it is not a unilateral matter. Therefore, concerns about human rights abuses cannot simply be dismissed as interference in an internal issue.
