To mourn him. To celebrate him. Or to study him?

At #RAO2026, Prof Levi Obonyo chose the third. He described Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga, EGH, CGH as a man whose counsel was sought, whose alliances shaped the nation, and whose presence could shift the tone of an entire national conversation.

Then he asked the harder question: where did that political consciousness begin? Did it come from his father and an early encounter with African thought, or from a continent where generations gave up their freedom, livelihoods and lives for emancipation?

A life like his deserves more than tributes. It deserves inquiry.
