A mentor once told me this: Just be unapologetically yourself. The moment you start filtering yourself to be liked is the moment you start attracting relationships that need constant maintenance. Do you. The right ones will stick, the wrong ones will walk. That’s a blessing.
There's a guy who lives alone in the flat next to mine. He lives away from his parents, goes to the office around 10, comes back by 6, cooks his own meals, and spends his evenings singing. We spoke today, and I found out he's a CSE graduate from IIT Roorkee, earns around ₹70 LPA, and is divorced. Despite all that, he lives a very simple life. When I asked him what's next, he simply said, "I'm still figuring it out."
Many people today have everything on paper: a great degree, a high-paying job, and financial security. But they don't have their people. The next big wave in India, especially in metro cities, will be people living alone. More money, more careers, more independence, but fewer people around them.
Disappear to build yourself in private. Nobody cares. Nobody. Avoid people who lower your vibe. And never chase people. Play dumb if you have to, to protect your energy. Trust your gut. Be patient with yourself. Limit your access. Trust me, once you decide you want a good life, people appear, doors open, and miracles light up your life. Sometimes... growth is learning to be alone.
My father never liked the man I was going to marry from day one.
But I was in love… I didn’t listen.
We got married.
5 months later, we got divorced.
After that:
I lost my confidence
I lost my faith
I felt ashamed in front of my family
One day, I asked my father:
How were you so sure?
Calmly, he said:
Before I got married, my mom asked me how I knew my wife was the one. My reply: “Because I love doing nothing with her.” Life isn’t about the glamorous moments. Life is mostly simple moments of nothing. When you find someone you love doing nothing with, you’ve found your one.
it’s been 6 months since my breakup & i still can’t bring myself to download any dating app or go on dates. i still talk about him w my friends & sometimes cry myself to sleep. even the idea of dating someone scares me now. btw i found out today that my ex is back on hinge.
that's true, anyone who feel powerless and thinks that nothing is going to help, chant hanuman chalisa and things will better at all cost. one who worships hanuman ji will find joy and solutions to the problems even in the worst of times. he never lets you suffer :')
Mute notifications and stalk him. Stalk him everyday. Some days you’ll find what you’re looking for and it’ll hurt . But don’t stop stalking . Stalk with every emotion you feel for him .
One day , that hurt will turn to indifference and you won’t even feel anything at all . You won’t remember what you liked about him, you’ll check him out one random day and laugh .
This method will help you like someone else with a clean slate.
Saw my ex and his fiancé at church on Sunday and it was like looking into the future of a life I almost had and I’m so so happy I don’t have it because the person I am now would have been miserable in that marriage and I think maybe God really does protect us from the things (people) we think we want.
Recently at lunch, a guy asked if my wife and I were dating
"No, we're married."
"How long?"
"16 years."
His jaw dropped. "Seriously? You guys don't act married."
And there it is.
The unspoken truth about modern marriage: we've accepted that "married" means dead inside.
No affection. No fun. Just two exhausted people managing chaos together.
But here's what he actually saw:
• My arm around her waist in line • Us laughing about something stupid • Actually looking at each other instead of our phones • Choosing to spend lunch TOGETHER instead of "getting a break"
This isn't luck. It's not "good genetics" or "you just found the right one."
It's intentional.
What we do that most couples don't:
- Regular dates (non-negotiable) Even if it's just a lunch during the workday. Time together without kids talking over us.
- Physical affection in public. Hold hands. Hug. Kiss. Don't save intimacy for the bedroom—it builds connection everywhere.
- Talk about US, not just logistics. We have conversations that aren't about bills, schedules, or what the kids need.
- I still flirt with my wife Compliment her. Make her laugh. Tease her. Don't treat her like a business partner.
- Protect marriage time from kid time. Our kids are important. Our marriage is THE FOUNDATION. If it crumbles, so does everything else.
Here's the hard truth:
Your marriage isn't dying because you're "too busy."
It's dying because you stopped prioritizing it.
Every time you choose Netflix over conversation. Every time you let a month pass without a real date. Every time you treat your wife like a roommate instead of your partner.
You're choosing slow death over intentional life.
16 years in, my wife and I still get mistaken for a dating couple.
Not because we're special.
Because we refuse to let "married" mean "done trying."
When's the last time you actually DATED your wife?
the night I met my boyfriend I literally couldn’t sleep because I was smiling so hard from how much fun we had
we met up again the next day for burritos even though I’d had a tooth filling and half my face was numb from novocaine but we were excited to see each other again and both wanted burritos
there was an ease about it all. a natural chemistry and comfort. that’s what you want to look for and feel when you’re dating.
when it’s the right person, you won’t need a green flags list, you’ll just feel at ease. you’ll feel it. the ease.
To all unmarried girls -
marry a guy who can speak good words to you, even though he is mad at you. the best of a partner is when he is angry, he won't try to insult you. because he has that much respect for you and doesn't want to lose you in a simple argument.
