For my latest Wonder Chronicles, I marvel at the wonder of hope at a time of genocide.
It’s a letter of love and appreciation to the magnificent hakawatiya Bisan in Gaza! 💜✊🏽❤️

Tonight, on the @mehdihasanshow on @MSNBC, I debunked the racist, dishonest, and dangerous myth that Gazans all support Hamas or that they 'voted for Hamas.'
Do watch/share:
Palestinian scholar Noura Erakat @4noura addressed crowds at Saturday's massive Washington, D.C., rally for a ceasefire in Gaza. "Palestine reveals the naked hypocrisy of Western universalism," she said.
I repeat my call for a humanitarian ceasefire in the Middle East, the unconditional release of all hostages, and the delivery of life-saving supplies at the scale needed.
Everyone must assume their responsibilities.
This is a moment of truth.
History will judge us all.

On 17th October, the 11th day of Israel’s bombardments on the besieged Gaza Strip, Israel bombed the Al Ahli hospital in Gaza, killing more than 500 people including patients, doctors & those seeking refuge.
Gaza is home to 2.3 million Palestinians (1.1 million children) and is one of the world’s most densely populated places. Israel has held it under siege for 17 years. In the last 11 days Israel has dropped thousands of bombs on the imprisoned population, estimated to be the equivalent force of a quarter of a nuclear bomb. Human rights experts have also confirmed the use of the internationally-banned weapon, white phosphorus.
On 15 October 2023, over 800 scholars and practitioners of international law, conflict studies and genocide studies signed a public statement warning of the possibility of genocide being perpetrated by Israeli forces against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. Signatories include prominent Holocaust and genocide studies scholars.
“As scholars and practitioners of international law, conflict studies and genocide studies, we are compelled to sound the alarm about the possibility of the crime of genocide being perpetrated by Israeli forces against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. We do not do so lightly, recognising the weight of this crime, but the gravity of the current situation demands it.”

We recognise their concerns and say #STOPTHEGENOCIDE to prevent further death and destruction NOW.

What is happening in #Gaza, #Palestine, is not war, it is ethnic cleansing. Perfectly documented ethnic cleansing. Hospitals are targeted. Schools are targeted. Shelters are targeted. Civilians seeking refuge are targeted. How can anyone deny it?
At least 500 civilians mainly children and women killed in a bomb blast by the IDF at a hospital in Gazza. 🇮🇱 hit new sickening levels of violation of international humanitarian law in total impunity. 🇺🇸 🇬🇧 🇫🇷 are accomplice in this genocide. #Gaza_Genocide
