btw, Patriotism and Nationalism are different things.

Patriotism is a desire to see your country improve - to want it to be better, and to have pride in what it does.

Nationalism involves asserting a superiority complex above that of other nations and to have pride NO MATTER WHAT it does.

No one should be "forced" to be Nationalistic because it's convenient or because of some arbitrary sense of duty. That would be quite... "virtuous" would it not? To proclaim on the world stage how great your country is if you don't believe in it yourself?

The entire reason our country is as great as it is falls solely on the fact that we are allowed to deem what is patriotic AND SPEAK ON IT WHEN WE DEEM IT NECESSARY - not according to someone else's definition of what, how, when, and where that should happen. That is OURS to own, individually.

If you, dear reader, cannot fathom that because you disagree with where he did it or when, then you've already lost the point.

If his PRIVATE sponsors drop him for speaking up, then so be it. If he LOSES FANS because of it then that's fine too. HE CHOSE THAT path for himself.

But unlike OTHER COUNTRIES, saying something negative about one's country on the world stage won't have him cease to exist or jailed by his government.

If you cannot applaud that simple fact and see that for what it is, you do not deserve to be in this country AND FURTHER if you cannot find it in yourself TO DUNK THE HELL OUT OF EVERY SINGLE FEDERAL POLITICIAN THAT WOULD DARE TELL HIM TO SHUT UP, then you are a coward.

FREE SPEECH IS NOT A PRIVILEDGE GRANTED BY POLITICIANS, AND IT IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL for a politician to attempt to muzzle a critic, no matter where that critic might be at the time.

i’m a pastor first & would classify as an evangelical. two degrees in biblical studies & have dedicated my life to this both vocationally & personally.

the bad bunny outrage was never about “family values” or “morality.” Having Kid Rock (lol) as an alternative was not about “family value” or “morality” either.

this was about political idolatry, christian nationalism, & xenophobia. hiding racism behind the mask of family values is a tale as old as time.

this isn’t about evangelical conviction. it’s about evangelical compromise. the compromise of an allegiance to a false doctrine & political identity over the gospel.

if bad bunny isn’t your thing, ok. but kid rock & turning point does not represent the faith and religion i’ve dedicated my life to.

- And basically no right to a day in court
- We can send you to a third world prison if we choose
- But we can’t bring you back if we made a mistake
- And if you interfere with any of this we can shoot you because you are a terrorist
