The "Ugly" Security Garden
My aesthetic garden ends exactly 10 feet from the house.
Between my flowers and my windows is a chaotic, ugly, terrifying zone of unpenetrable bushes.
I call it the "Moat."
It ruins my curb appeal, but it stops anyone from peering in my windows.
Beauty is for the patio.
Pain is for the perimeter. 🌵🥀

This isn’t my story. It’s from FB. But it’s exactly how I feel about my 1,000 acres of heaven here in NM.
BREAKING: Another New Mexico family farmer, this time in Doña Ana County, is gaining attention across the Land of Enchantment after turning down a massive multimillion-dollar offer from developers who wanted to turn her family’s farmland into warehouses and industrial sites.
The offer was life-changing money.
But she chose to hold onto the land her family has worked for generations.
She said:
“For generations, through every New Mexico season — the dry winds of spring, the long sun-soaked days growing chile and pecans, the golden harvest under wide desert skies, and the quiet winters under endless stars — this land has provided more than just crops. It’s part of who we are. It’s not about the money. It’s about protecting something real.”
As development continues expanding around Las Cruces and across southern New Mexico, farmland is slowly being pushed aside. But this farmer stood her ground.
A reminder that not every acre in New Mexico is for sale.
Some land still grows real food, supports real families, and carries a legacy no price tag can replace.
Forget choosing between farming and forests.Agroforestry lets you do both, and the benefits are incredible. From drawing down carbon and boosting biodiversity to preventing soil erosion and increasing farmer income, this practice is a win-win-win.
Well THIs just happened. 😻😻🥰
For the third year in a row, we have little babies in the backyard and yes, I get very excited and keep saying it — but the developers have cut down every last tree around here which is why our tiny farms here are now sanctuaries to them. 🦌🦌
Yes I use AI tools
(in moderation, especially for wellness research)
but I will never marry a robot
or fall in love with it
or prefer it
to my garden
to God's creation
or mistake it for true sustenance.
🚨 In Australia, helicopters rained carrots from the sky.
After devastating fires left wallabies starving, this urgent mission became their lifeline—food falling where nothing else remained.
A striking reminder: when nature breaks, survival can depend on us. 🥕🇦🇺
Oh nooo, how will they control me if I’m over here growing tomatoes and laughing at their rules?
Tragic. Absolutely tragic for them 💅
Pass the zucchini, I’m busy being ungovernable.
There is something so beautiful about curved garden paths. I always try to create curved growth lines. Even in a backyard garden! If I made a new coffee brand it would be called Curved Coffee!
Coffee farming is more than just growing a crop—it is building a future. Every seed you plant carries the promise of income, growth, and a better life. It may take time for coffee trees to mature, but patience in farming always rewards those who stay committed.
Start small, but start with purpose. Prepare your land well, choose healthy seedlings, and take care of your plants like an investment. Water them, protect them, and give them the nutrients they need. Remember, strong plants produce strong yields.
Challenges will come. There will be pests, unpredictable weather, and market changes. But successful farmers are not those who avoid problems—they are those who learn, adapt, and keep going. Every challenge is a lesson that makes you a better farmer.
Focus on quality, not just quantity. Well-managed coffee with proper harvesting and processing can earn higher prices in the market. One well-grown coffee tree can support your goals if you give it the right care.
Stay consistent. Farming is not about quick results—it is about steady progress. Day by day, season by season, your effort will grow into a productive farm. With time, your coffee plantation can become a reliable source of income for you and your family.
Believe in your work. Agriculture is not a small job—it feeds nations and builds economies. As a coffee farmer, you are part of something bigger. Your dedication matters.
✅ coffee farming rewards patience, discipline, and hard work. If you stay focused and never give up, your farm will not only grow coffee—it will grow success.
They teach us without speaking— how to remain rooted while reaching, how to give without depletion, how to endure storm and drought with the same silent dignity.
In their presence I feel small, and strangely exalted.
Appreciate you and Masako putting this out there before it fully unfolds. The 'crazy' label always fades right when reality catches up. For those paying attention, it’s another strong reminder: make your real life more real — garden, raise hens, get off the dependency treadmill. Off-grid wins when the chokepoints close.
@thebeaconsignal This hits deep. We need our actual lives to feel more real too — raw, unfiltered, and written by our own hands instead of someone else’s program. More dirt under the nails, food we grew ourselves, and days shaped by nature rather than algorithms.
Now THAT’S the kind of diversity I can actually support! 😂 Beautiful hens hustling for bugs while the rest of the world argues about everything else. Real homesteading > everything. Love the flock, sir! 🐔🏡
Nothing says 'premium real estate' like living beside a refinery that occasionally throws a surprise apocalypse party… or a data center. Keep those remote property hunts coming, man — Off-Grid is undefeated.
It is crazy that scenes like this are not even considered noteworthy in the media, or even on social media, anymore.
An oil refinery burns in Tuapse, Russia after strikes on April 16, 2026.
The Restaurant Test (Evaluating Your Network)
How to evaluate someone for your parallel society? Take them to a restaurant.
1. Do they scan a QR code for the menu? (Red flag. They love digital surveillance).
2. Do they pay with Apple Pay? (Red flag. Cashless society cheerleader).
3. Do they smile when you tip the waiter in physical cash and tell them to "not declare it"? (Green flag, independent spirit, good sign.)
