It was a daunting mission and it had taken many light-years to catch up to the ship.

I had to destroy this thing.

Everyone who was still alive was now living the effects of climate change.

The rest, well they were dead. But those living didn't care about that.

"We've arrived, you may open your eyes, young one." An elderly voice cut through the darkness.

I unravelled the binding that covered my eyes.

The light burned for a moment then my eyes adjusted.

"Cannon two is fifty per cent complete, Boss." Stated a soft voice.

"Good, prime cannon one to fire upon the fleet." Replied a gruff voice over the communicator.

Despite being high in the atmosphere the lookout of K'Ledual Peak was pretty cosy and far removed from the rest of civilisation.

Or what remained of it at least.

Aurora, goddess of K'Ledual had seen to the destruction of most.

Oxygen was very rare in this decade, a planet ravaged by an upward spiral of heat destroyed all plant life.

All but a single tree, eternally producing oxygen for the wealthy.

What of the poor you ask? Well, they perished at the whims of the rich.

It was a rare sight on New Earth, rather than blue waters, rainbow waters filled the lake at the foot of mount Ek'Lumin.

The team couldn't admire the sight for long though, they have to invade the castle at its summit.

"For someone so small, you certainly make very big demands." Stated the elephant.

"Well, you know what we're like..." The person replied.

"I do and that is why I'm denying your request. You cannot be trusted." The elephant stated firmly.

I'd put on the headset and see it all, the vision of my empire spread out in front of me.

The empire that would never see the light of day.

Only the rich could build an empire like this and I know I wouldn't be able to get enough in one lifetime.

"My lord, I have returned." A deep voice growled from the valley.

"I apologize for not bringing offerings for the past two moons."

"I've been trying to gather more followers, but they are already with a god."

Silence.

Pure silence enveloped the Kepler Station as it orbited Earth.

There had been no sounds for many years, not since the last of the crew left with the rest of the human race.

"Come, we have much to discuss," Said the person under the arches.

They turned and started to walk into the mist that had rolled in.

I followed, taking a glance at the arches I was about to pass. I could feel the power within.

"Ahh, Bethan looks like the sky gods have graced us with some rain this year." Stated the farmer to his trusted horse while ploughing his fields.

A range of voices cried from the other side of the corridor.

Sacrifices powered this gate.

Sacrifices of time, of effort and most concerning of all.

Of life.

It's just appeared out of nowhere, blocking the light from the resident start.

An entire planet pulled through a wormhole without its residents' knowledge.

The upper brass of the intruding planet, wouldn't know what hit them.

The temple was flooding and still the rich wouldn't allow those of lesser blood into the safety of the vaults.

They caused this mess, and yet they do nothing to clear it up. Maybe destroying the vaults was the best idea after all.
