Please check out our latest @ChemRxiv preprint: Access to Synthetic Fold-switching Proteins Using Automated Flow Chemistry! Comments and feedback are much apprecieted! DOI: https://t.co/qKRKf66ISG @UofSC_Chem
Our first paper is live! We show that potent expression of interferon-gamma can be achieved by activating the gene directly, rather than cell-surface receptors. Huge thanks to the Truex lab team and to our USC colleagues! #FrontiersIn@UofSC_Chem https://t.co/Gs6ySDmbkp
Congratulations to my colleague and friend @NathalieGrob on being awarded a grant to start her independent career at @ETH_en - keep your eye open for positions which will involve innovative science and great mentoring!
Are you interested in graduate school? Then check out all the new research groups and the entire Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of South Carolina. Grad applications are FREE this year! https://t.co/T0vaijpgHt
Please RT and tell your biochemistry/molecular biology/chemical biology/neurobiology/neurochemistry postdocs to apply! We will also welcome applications from established investigators who are looking for a new opportunity. ⤵️⤵️⤵️
Truex and Rondon et al. from @broadinstitute engineered a therapeutic proof-of-concept cancer vaccine that delivered antigenic peptides into the cytosol of DCs, resulting in enhanced priming of Ag-specific CD8+ T cells in vitro and in vivo. https://t.co/aaLtuHhQgs

BREAKING NEWS
The 2023 #NobelPrize in Physiology or Medicine has been awarded to Katalin Karikó and Drew Weissman for their discoveries concerning nucleoside base modifications that enabled the development of effective mRNA vaccines against COVID-19.
Although anthrax-based cancer vaccines have been theorized for decades, this one is the first to target real DCs and inhibit solid tumors. Thx to Aurélie and all co-authors who helped get it done. @ACSCentSci@ACIR_org@ChemistryMIT@kochinstitute@UofSC_Chem
Check out our latest work in the @PenteluteLab on enhancing vaccine immunogenicity by targeted cytosolic delivery of tumor antigens into dendritic cells! It was great to contribute to this project spearheaded by Nick and Aurélie now out in @ACSCentSci! https://t.co/T9UfIHREVx
This just released on preprint! Collaborative work on designing T cell epitopes that favor antigen processing and presentation! Stay tuned for the full story! @ACIR_org

Excited to share our work on synthetic,‘artificial’ transcription factors. We present one solution to design non-natural, high affinity, specific and stable synthetic transcriptional repressors (STRs) that compete with MYC or other bHLH TFs for DNA binding https://t.co/ac55imej3B
The first Simoska lab photo!!! Fall season colors 🍂🍁 I am so excited to build the lab with my students at the Univ. of South Carolina. Thanks to Daniel for taking our picture!!!
Looking forward to our next #globalimmuno talk this Wednesday September 21 at 9am PST noon EST 4pm GMT by Dr. Lucy Walker.
