@_pipdid You believe Joseph Smith found and translated gold plates written in a non-existent language before they were conveniently taken away by an angel
@Eatporkplease1@CogitoEdu@magi_jay Herzl borrowed from British colonial writings regarding India in his own works, and Jabotinsky and Nordau also used referred to it as colonialism.
@pdnell@Mammalman722@magi_jay Many European settlers to the Americas were poor or persecuted and searching for a better life. Doesn't change the matter one bit.
@Absurd_Ruka Don't necessarily agree with BE here, but your understanding of logic is flawed. Validity concerns the structure, not content, of an argument. The rain example is invalid not because we empirically know it to be; it's misapplication of a conditional.
@Tross____ You're comparing the highest speculative estimate in the case of Dresden to about the number of confirmed, identified dead in Gaza. The Dresden death toll is nowhere near that stringent.
@PrincessBfan29@jihadistvril@Tross____ That's the number of verifiable, ID'd dead, which is a far more stringent metric than what's used for that Dresden death toll (which is actually UP TO 25,000) or what's used for any modern conflict for that matter (the Syrian civil war death toll is a very rough estimate)
