Plastic has revolutionized the way we package, eat, travel, and dress.

But, this comes at a cost.

With an annual social and environmental cost of as much as $1.5 trillion, we need urgent action to tackle plastic pollution. 🐟🐳🌊

💡Fun fact: The color of plastic doesn’t reveal its type! ⚪️🔵❌

Sorting plastics by color and type matters for recycling ♻️

⚜️Pro tip: Check the recycling symbol and number - ♳ ♴ ♵ ♶ ♷ ♸ ♹ at the bottom of the bottle to recycle properly! ✅💚

Plastic is a MAJOR problem in Africa!

It pollutes our environment, harms our wildlife, and threatens our health.
A strong global plastic treaty is essential to protect Africa's environment and people.

E-waste contains valuable metals, but also toxic chemicals, such as persistent organic pollutants, flame retardant #chemicals, & other heavy metals .

Correct disposal ♻️ is vital for the health of the communities that sift through the waste for a living.

🦦 Plastic pollution is choking our rivers and oceans.

🥤 To #StopPlasticPollution, the #PlasticsTreaty must include global bans on the most harmful plastic products.
