A nonprofit, nonpartisan think tank whose mission is to deepen knowledge and understanding of Russian politics and society (твиты на русском языке: @IMR_rus)
@InModernRussia gave me a start when I was graduate student by publishing my writing. I was honored to be involved w this organization since then. The institution was declared an "undesirable" in 2017, which is a badge of honor, but also made the work difficult. Sad day.
We hope that our research, analyses, interviews, and other materials have helped you better understand the political, social, legal and economic mechanisms of the political regime that has developed in Russia under Vladimir Putin.
Sincerely yours,
— The IMR team
The website will remain online and will be maintained as a digital archive with all the articles preserved and freely accessible. We have been with you for 11 years and are immensely grateful for your interest in our work and for your support. 2/3

If history has taught us anything it’s that wars in Europe don’t stay in Europe. What’s happening in Ukraine might still feel far away for most Americans, but its not. The longer we wait to take decisive action to stop Putin, help Ukraine, the worse it will be when it comes here.
