@JessScanInFFS @Jenene I think it's essential to apply intersectionality to this. Being white and/or male doesn't inoculate against, for example, abuse, disability, and other sources of oppression and trauma.
It’s one thing to fear speaking because you could be saying something wrong, but it is agonising to self-censor because you fear you might be saying something right that is not allowed.
This week I had a mental health professional tacitly confirm to me that attempting suicide is the only sure way to get treated.
So all those suicide prevention initiatives don't necessarily value your life so much as perpetuating the under-resourcing of public health
