Strengthening collaboration for climate action in Nigeria.

Convened in Abuja by the Federal Ministry of Environment, the 2026 World Environment Day commemorative event brought together government stakeholders, development partners, educators, and climate-focused organisations to engage on practical pathways for climate resilience and environmental sustainability.

Anchored on the theme “A Global Call for Climate Action,” discussions focused on the shift from high-level commitments to coordinated implementation, particularly the need to strengthen institutional partnerships, align priorities across sectors, and scale interventions that deliver measurable environmental outcomes.

Across the session, there was a clear emphasis on urgency: climate action must move beyond dialogue to structured execution that responds to both national realities and global expectations.
