Fifa bans England's Jarell Quansah for two games, meaning he misses Norway and a potential semi-final.
Quansah was sent off for serious foul play.
US striker Folarin Balogun, who was sent off for serious foul play, got one game which was suspended for 12 months...
The USA national team earned friends and new fans in this tournament for their endeavour and achievements.
All that was torched in 48 hours thanks to their President. I hope it was worth it to get pumped by Belgium.

Whether it is or isn’t a red to Balogun is now irrelevant. Government interference is a violation of FIFA Article 2 & 15, and the punishment is disqualification and suspension. #FIFAWorldCup
Balogun’s red card was given by the referee, backed up by VAR within the game and FIFA’s own disciplinary panel reviewed and upheld the decision after the game. So yes this decision reeks of corruption.
£100m for Sandro Tonali is an extraordinary overpay. Tottenham are happy to be rinsed in the market & give inflated wages because of the position they're in.
That's not ambition, don't confuse the two because they're throwing money around. It's two entirely different things - that's being in your Ed Woodward era.
Manchester United walked away from Tonali at the beginning of the summer because of the asking price & wages & clearly they were right to do it.
We spent years paying huge fees for players with potential or who the manager had worked with before. Everyone wanted it to stop and for the club to be more sensible. As soon as we start doing that everyone complains 🤷♂️
Manchester United were right not to pay £116m for Elliot Anderson & £300k+ p/w & they are right not to pay £85m for Mateus Fernandes & £250k p/w.
Not overpaying for players is something the club has to change. If they don't value players at that price they shouldn't & won't be bullied into paying it.
This is the correct decision, whether you want to or can swallow it or not. These are changes the club needed to make & they're correctly making them.
Fernandes isn't worth the wages when considering the club's wage structure. I understand frustration on time wasted, but I can't believe people think he's worth that.
There will be performative outrage, turbo tweeting temper tantrums. I understand frustration of the unknown now & what happens next. That's fair.
The double edged sword with these decisions is being able to pivot to alternative targets & find value in the market - the club have to prove they can do that.
@__scottsaunders Completely agree. Add him, and Alex Scott with £ saved from no LW purchase (keep Rashford & negotiate new deal on less cash if possible). Lewis Hall at LB if you can get him out of Newcastle.
Man City are signing Elliot Anderson for a British record £130m.
Seems like those 115 alleged charges for breaking Financial Fair play rules are really serving as a deterrent.
£130 million for Elliot Anderson is astounding, don’t know how you ever get value for money with a deal like that. Won’t matter to City whose cheating has made such a mockery of the Premier League & disgrace to English football this is just the latest entry.
£115m+£15m probably.
Interesting that the fee is never reported as outwardly with someone like City - who don’t draw the same attention or criticism - that a Manchester United would. Can’t imagine an Abu Dhabi-Marinakis deal being all above board anyway tbh.
Still a bizarre phenomenon.
City bidding £120mil for a player Newcastle had to sell to comply with FFP while still having not had a single punishment for 115 charges. On the day Everton are punished yet again for one overpayment that only occurred because of the War in Ukraine. Football has become a farce
