We spoke to Dr. Daley from @CSUChicoRegenAg about the critical need to train agricultural professionals to scale #carbonfarming. Read the full conversation here: https://t.co/eiOrbMMwbT
Our best tool for sequestering carbon is to recarbonize our natural and working lands. Last year, @FAO Global Soil Partnership published a series of insightful manuals on decarbonizing soils around the world.
Various sustainable soil management practices are supported by case studies that have been shown with quantitative data to positively affect SOC stocks and successful experiences of SOC sequestration in practical field applications.
Grasslands can act as an important carbon sink. A new paper by Bai and Cotrufo in @ScienceMagazine estimates the potential for global grasslands to sequester 3.4 to 10.1 billion metric tons of CO2 per year.

Thank you to our sponsors and partners for championing this work and ensuring that our natural and working lands sector is a critical pillar in our state’s climate portfolio.
It’s a great week for agricultural climate solutions in California! Yesterday @CAgovernor@GavinNewsom signed into law AB 1757, requiring the California Natural Resources Agency and Air Resources Board to establish ambitious targets for sequestration on natural and working lands
AB 1757 will catalyze natural carbon sequestration in #CA and its many co-benefits by establishing an expert committee of farmers, researchers, and tribal and environmental justice representatives to advise on modeling & implementation scenarios and the strategies to achieve them
