During his introductory remarks at the 2026 Nairobi Geopolitics Forum, organized in partnership with @KAS_Kenya and @GLOCEPS1, Dr. Kizito Sabala, Chair, International Relations Society of Kenya (IRSK), underscored the growing strategic importance of maritime access, strategic corridors, and regional cooperation in shaping Africa’s future.
He urged participants to engage in deeper reflection on shared priorities, noting:
💬 “Let us think critically about how to strengthen maritime governance, how to build resilient, inclusive corridors and how to enhance regional cooperation in an increasingly competitive global environment.”
He further emphasized Africa’s agency in navigating global dynamics, adding:
💬 “The future of Eastern and Southern Africa will not be determined solely by external powers or global trends; it will be shaped by choices we make individually and collectively as a region.”
