The politicisation of Henry Nowak started when police allowed him to die at their feet as they searched his phone for ‘racist language’, not when Nigel Farage addressed Britain this morning.
To claim that Australians are not a distinct people, but merely a patchwork of races united by a vague set of “values” shared equally with any other Western nation, is effectively to erase the historic ethnic people of Australia altogether.
A nation is not built or sustained by abstract ideals alone, but by a concrete people with a shared history, inheritance, culture, and identity formed over generations.
Once national identity is reduced to a loose collection of universal values, the Australian people cease to exist as a particular people at all, becoming instead nothing more than a geographic population indistinguishable from any other Western society.
