We have filed for a union election through the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). In just 23 days, over 2500 graduate workers—the supermajority of graduate workers at Cornell!—have signed union cards, showing we are ready to have formal union representation through CGSU-UE.
The @UAW strike expands today, and union president Shawn Fain announced the next wave with a powerful speech.
"This war isn't against some foreign country. The front lines are right here at home. It's the war of the working class...and our strike is the vehicle for liberation."

But nothing can compete with Iowa.
There, a Republican bill, which passed the Senate this morning at 4:52am, lets 14-year-olds work 6-hour night shifts, 15-year-olds work on assembly lines, and 16- and 17-year-olds serve alcohol.
One clause would permit teenagers to work in unsafe conditions — meat processing plants, mines, construction sites — if it were part of some educational program. Basically, an internship at the slaughterhouse.

Education and housing costs are out of control, wages are pitiful, abortion rights are under attack, the far right's dangerous bigoted attacks continue every day.
Hawkeyes need @IowaYDSA for students to organize collectively to confront the far right and build the movement!
