@TheeGrainLady There’s a few out there that are desperate for attention and were never taught the right way to get it. The only way they feel smart is by pointing out how dumb everyone else is.
Markets can accommodate every opinion, and everyone will be right/smart for 5 min.

They can use “conventional” seeds with no patented genetic traits (GMO), but these seeds often underperform in terms of yield and disease resistance. They might require higher inputs like fertilizer, herbicides and pesticides.
Non-conventional seed cannot be retained by agreement with the providing seed co.

@sciencegirl I'd say Opium (and other poppy derivatives) gets a vote for both medical reasons and for the adverse cultural and historical effects. the Opium War in China would be one example of this, another might be the today's narco-conflicts.
