When Henry Dunant saw the battlefields of Solferino on June 24th, 1859, the idea of the Red Cross was born.
Together, and all across the world, Let's keep paving a path of humanity.
Let’s keep the flame burning.
Happy Solferino 2026!

Proud to be one of 16 Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies supporting lifesaving care at the Red Cross Field Hospital in Rafah, delivering critical treatment to thousands of people in Gaza when it is needed most.
"You're one bullet away from becoming the patient that you are treating yourself."
At the @icrc Rafah Field Hospital, local staff continue to care for others while living through the same conflict and losses affecting their communities. Some have lost loved ones. Some have lost their homes. One nurse finished her shift only to return hours later as a patient after an air strike killed her 4-year-old child.
Despite unimaginable hardship, they show up every day with extraordinary compassion and commitment.
Humanitarian workers are not immune to war. They are part of the communities they serve.

On Father's Day, we remember fathers who continue searching for their sons, holding onto hope & waiting for when they can be together again.
Pavlo is one of them. He is waiting for his son - who recently became a father for the third time - to return home and meet his newborn.
For those forced to flee, safety is more than reaching a destination. It is the chance to rebuild, to belong, and to live with dignity.
On #WorldRefugeeDay, we stand with refugees everywhere and remember that every person deserves not only protection, but also the opportunity to turn hope into a future.
This is 'The shelter that shone in the distance' by the poet, spoken word artist and documentary filmmaker, Mamuch Bey.

Collaboration in Action: IE 🤝UA
On Friday, our colleagues from Irish Red Cross, alongside the @IrlEmbUkraine, spent the day in Zhytomyr to see firsthand the incredible work being done by @RedCrossUkraine staff and volunteers on the ground.
During a crisis, physical aid like food and shelter is only one part of the recovery. The invisible wounds of conflict—prolonged stress, anxiety, and trauma—can devastate individuals, families, and entire communities if left unaddressed.
That is why Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) is so critical. It provides the psychological first aid needed to help people process trauma, build resilience, and begin the long process of emotional healing. ❤️🩹
In Zhytomyr, local #RedCross teams are working tirelessly to deliver these exact lifelines.
Our thanks go to @Irish_Aid, whose vital funding makes our collaborative work possible.
