1. The article literally says EVEN ISIAH'S OWN COACH DIDN'T WANT HIM ON THE TEAM
2. People act like you cant say bad stuff about MJ or like this is some hidden lowkey stuff when everyone has known it for at least a decade and it's being put out in ESPN articles ππ
"I won't play if Isiah Thomas is on the team."
Michael Jordan is heard saying that to Rod Thorn, who was on the USA Basketball selection for the Dream Team, in an old interview that was recently aired on a podcast. https://t.co/RoUEmhDCn3
This is because LeBron was getting 2nd and 3rd place DPOY votes which did not exist before 2003.
Before 2003 DPOY votes were for 1st only, and 1 pt each. Not the 5-3-1 system.
@MikanFanClubCEO I see a lot of people put Jordan as a token number 2 but then proceed to make a bunch of arguments that would imply he couldn't possibly be top 2.
Nobody openly ranks Jordan low b/c it's credibility suicide, instead theyll say "he was great FOR HIS ERA" and then say stupid stuff
I loved everything about Jerry Sloan, from the way he played to the way he coached. He was a tenacious competitor who represented the Bulls of the 70s so well. Jerry became one of my favorite coaches when he was on the 1996 Dream Team staff and it was an honor to learn from him.
Klay Thompson weighs more than Bill Russell. And he's a shooting guard. DeAndre Jordan would destroy Bill Russell. It wouldn't be fair. You have to re-evaluate greatness.
There's a lot of people who struggle to accept the reality that Jordan was the best, a winner, and revered despite being a huge jerk.
It's really not about basketball for these people.
And thus we get emotional meltdowns like this lol
@JMeuvi76 @MikanFanClubCEO He's saying it because in a best of 5 series, game is 5 is the winner takes all game. First round in the 80s and 90s was only 5 games.
@Dee4Three84 In all seriousness, is it more likely the Dream Team got blown out by a bunch of 19 year olds?
Or that it was just made up to sell some story about teamwork to hide just how absurd it was that a dozen first ballot HOF guys were about to play against underdeveloped Euro teams?
@DT1520 The real question is why is that guy using the 98 Bulls to discredit the 96 Bulls? We gonna talk about how the 18 Warriors went 7 games with Houston?
@ScoutWithBryan I like the thought process behind the camera man:
what's an effective way to "rebel" against government statutes?
Oh I know I'll go make the Costco managers day harder and film myself doing it, that'll show the government
Exactly
People claim it's a propoganda film that cuts all this out to make MJ look like "God", but yet, all these things are in the doc?
Makes me wonder if they actually watched....
I mean wtf do the outraged people want, 10 hours of MJ sh**ting on his own legacy???
@Rachel__Nichols@ESPN1000 Right. So they edited out Will Perdue who said he was an asshole? Steve Kerr who said he was a bully? Critics who said he failed as a social activist? News clips that said he was linked to his fathers murder? Behind the scenes video that showed how he called teammates βhoβsβ?
This is very confusing because they literally have Horace defending himself from the claim he was Sam's source in the documentary immediately after Jordan says it and clearly leave it open ended...
Horace Grant WENT OFF on what Michael Jordan said about him in the Last Dance: "lie, lie, lie...let's settle this like men." Grant also said "90%" of the doc was "B.S. in terms of the realness of it," saying anyone going against MJ was edited out @espn1000 https://t.co/kZVnB1nu3D
