Bringing this thread back because Delta women have been talking about rape culture for years.
There is one of many reasons many women from there swore never to step foot in Delta State ever again.
I forgot to add: Before Virginity fee is paid, the girl is usually beaten by her parents or relatives, it doesn't matter the circumstances. A rape victim gets beaten and slut shamed, the rapist drops 40k or 50k and walks free every time he rapes a child.
Wait, so they’re dragging Simi cause she’s speaking out against R@pe???
How does speaking up against r@pe means you’re in support of false rape allegations ??. And it’s men dragging her. The world is a scary place
When we say these skits are ridiculous and harmful, somebody will come and reply with, “But did they force the person with albinism to feature in it?”
And that’s where the problem is. Exploitation does not always look like force. Many times, it is limited options.
We live in a society where people with albinism are rarely considered for real creative opportunities. They are not cast in serious roles, they are not booked for campaigns, they are not even included in everyday media the way they deserve to be. But once it’s time for a ridiculous skit that portrays them as helpless, confused, or “blind and clueless,” suddenly everyone remembers they exist. I run a talent management agency, and it’s the reality we face everyday .
It’s the same pattern everywhere too. Creatives with albinism are invisible to the industry… until it’s International Albinism Awareness Day and brands need CSR content, awareness month design, or a quick “inspirational” moment to post and move on from.
So when someone with albinism accepts a demeaning role, it’s not always because they enjoy the stereotype. Sometimes it’s because they barely get gigs. And when opportunities are scarce, people take what they can get, even when it’s humiliating.
These skits are so harmful. Some people with albinism have low vision but not like this. These ridiculous skits reinforce dangerous stereotypes. And they keep the industry lazy, because it’s easier to use someone’s identity as a punchline than to create meaningful stories that actually show them as full humans.
This is why advocacy matters. We should all be allies. And it’s why I started @mistyglamcorp to create visibility for these talents and force the world to see that people with albinism or other visible differences are more than their skin condition, and far bigger than the stereotypes society keeps recycling.
We can really do better than making marginalised communities the joke every time ☹️
@misssgoody I enjoy watching her videos. A lot.
I don't think they are suppose to make people laugh. I have never laughed, at least.
But they are entertaining in an out of context way. Which I appreciate.
@peterparne@PEshiogiem4181@scottbolshevik India does not allow dual citizenship.
So most of them don't because citizens of the other countries.
It may not be an achievement to you but it is an achievement for the person that worked hard to get there.
He will not ask you or Scott for your permission to count his win
@Sexyamara001@King_Bhle You people look at everything from a "stanship" point of view, to be honest.
Being the first runner up has always been awkward on stage. Because all the attention is poured on the winner and they usually just stand there unsure what to do.
It is not a shade on Dede at all.

I watched this show objectively and hear something, Imisi gave a lot of content.
Maybe it just wasn't your cup of tea but that does not remove her hard work.
If pity was all it took, Mensan or Kuture would have won. And they would have still earned it.
@iamdebbie20 Lmao! Imisi did a whole lot.
She built a rapport with different housemates. She was very involved. Very active.
Actively scheming, actively sowing seeds here and there, actively trying to be funny, actively being dramatic.
You may not have liked her strategy but she earned this
@NalugwaJesca@kukeeys@BBNaija Kellyrae acted poor? 😭
Those people were chosen from the stage because of their strategy!
I don't know why people voted for Ilebaye but she never claimed to be poor. She was always talking of going to high brow places. Na una know where una for see poverty
@iamdebbie20 The only thing she didn't do was get in a ship and she even tried that one.
So, don't say all she did was pretended to have no clothes. She did that and many many more. ♥️
Her strategy was solid.
If acting poor was all it took to win, Kuture or Mensan would have won. ♥️
@iamdebbie20 Imisi made everybody laugh (including) Biggie. In tasks she gave 100%. She was in many fights (if that's the kind of thing you consider entertaining). Even when she couldn't speak, she was still actively entertaining. Compare how she acted when she was mute to Kola and Faith...
