STOP comparing Afghan women in burqas and Iranian women under compulsory hijab with Christian nuns.

This really isn’t complicated.

A nun chooses to become a nun. Her vow applies to her. She doesn’t take the vow and suddenly every woman in Italy has to cover her hair.

And if she removes her veil, the morality police don’t show up to beat her, arrest her, or throw her in prison.

That’s the difference.

In Iran and Afghanistan, the rules don’t care whether you’re religious, secular, Muslim, atheist, or just want to be left alone. You’re a woman? Congratulations. The authorities have a dress code for you.

And please stop pointing at little girls in hijab and calling it “choice.” Some of these children can’t even read yet. They’re old enough to choose a religious obligation for life, but apparently not old enough to choose what they want for lunch?

Here’s the test nobody seems to want to take:

What happens when a woman says NO?

If the answer is guns and bullets, prison, beatings, losing your education, or being erased from public life, congratulations, you’ve discovered the difference between choice and coercion.

And if you still think the Taliban model is somehow “liberating,” try it yourself. Cover up. Obey. Let religious authorities decide how you dress, where you go, whether you work, and when you’re allowed to speak. Then explain to Afghan women how empowered you feel.

Is this really that difficult to understand?

We've just listened back to yesterday's Nolan Show (Chris Buckler standing in), which featured a discussion on Fèile an Phobail's cancellation of the @ni_wrn event. We were genuinely taken aback by the misinformed and vitriolic comments about 'the people on that panel' made by People Before Profit's Fiona Ferguson.
To be clear: Gaels For Fair Play is an all-Ireland group of grassroots Gaelic Games members campaigning for fair and safe sport for women and girls who play Gaelic football and camogie.
We are opposed to the @LadiesFootball transgender policy because iIt has been established, unequivocally, that inclusion of males in the female category cannot be balanced against safety and fairness for female players.
We know this because science, empirical evidence and basic common sense tells us so. Asking the custodians of our sport to protect the female category is not 'pumping out hatred'.

We do not wish to 'exclude' trans people from Gaelic Games.
We believe everyone should have the opportunity to participate but respectfully ask that trans-identifying males compete in the correct sex category in the interests of fairness and safety for females.
Trans-identifying females, who accept that biological diferences would make it difficult, if not impossible, for them to compete in a men's team, play in the correct sex category. Why, then, is it unthinkable that trans-identifying males would do the same?
We have repeatedly called on the GAA to foster an inclusive environment in men's Gaelic football and hurling in which trans-identifying males can feel safe, welcome and valued. This is the model of inclusion all ethical and responsible governing bodies should strive for; not a flawed version where the price of 'inclusion' is the removal of fairness and safety for women and girls.

We wonder if Fiona, as a committed feminist, might find it concerning that the LGFA will not disclose to female Gaelic footballers if a male is present on the pitch, thereby denying women the right to give informed consent about what happens to their own bodies. We hope it would also concern her to know that women who were injured after being tackled by male players chose not to raise the incident with the LGFA because they were afraid of being stigmatised.

Lastly: it's news to us that groups such as ours are 'heavily funded by right-wing groups in America' given that the placards we did up for our last protest were A4 posters sellotaped onto the back of a Cornflakes box. We are entirely self-funded and are raising this issue because we think women and girls deserve fairness, safety and dignity in our sport; it is a disgraceful slur to brand our words as 'hate speech'.

Feile an Phobail's comments are a punch in the guts to the 20,000+ women and girls in the north of Ireland who play Gaelic football and camogie.
Wanting female players to have fairness, safety, privacy and dignity in their sport is not anti-rights.
Asking our governing bodies to ensure that all males, no matter how they identify, compete in the correct sex category so that female players can have fair and safe sport is not anti-rights.
We note with deepening concern the level of abuse directed at women by those who pushed for this event to be cancelled. These are ordinary women, living in the very same communities as those seeking to strip them of their right to speak.
This is not right.

J’ai appris ce soir par mon avocat, qu’une plainte a été déposée contre moi par Youssra Marzouk, une jeune avocate voilée pour injure, diffamation publique, provocation à la haine en raison de son appartenance religieuse. Mon avocat m’a indiqué avoir été contacté par un journaliste qui l’a informé de cette plainte, cette affaire sera visiblement médiatisée. Je préfère en parler directement, avant que d’autres racontent l’histoire à ma place.

Je suis née de parents musulmans. J’ai grandi en France, j’ai été contrainte de subir le voile imposé durant de longues années. J’ai porté le voile au départ par choix, et ensuite parce que je n’avais plus le choix. Je sais exactement ce qu’il représente, ce qu’il implique, ce qu’il fait à une femme de l’intérieur. Je ne parle pas de ce que j’ai lu dans un livre ou entendu dans un débat télévisé. Je parle de ce que j’ai vécu dans ma chair, dans ma tête, dans mon quotidien. Personne ne peut me donner de leçons sur ce sujet. Personne. C’est précisément parce que j’ai vécu sous ce voile que je me sens le devoir de parler. Pas pour attaquer des femmes, mais pour alerter sur une idéologie qui les utilise comme étendard d’une conquête silencieuse.

Le 4 novembre 2025, j’ai réagi en voyant une avocate voilée intervenir sur TF1. J’ai exprimé mon inquiétude sur les réseaux sociaux, face à la banalisation du voile islamique dans les institutions françaises, dans la justice, dans les commerces, partout. J’ai dit ce que je pensais, clairement, sans détour. Je critiquais une idéologie politique et religieuse, pas une femme, pas une personne. Une idéologie. Celle qui utilise le voile comme symbole visible d’une pression exercée sur toute une société, pour normaliser l’islamisme, le banaliser, l’intégrer jusqu’au cœur de nos institutions. Ce propos n’est pas de la haine. C’est un témoignage. C’est une alerte citoyenne en tant que lanceuse d’alerte rescapée de l’islamisme contre l’entrisme islamiste.

Aujourd’hui, Me Youssra Marzouq et la Maison des potes m’attaquent en justice. Je veux expliquer ce que cette plainte signifie vraiment. Elle ne vise pas à réparer un préjudice. Elle vise à faire taire. C’est une stratégie d’intimidation bien connue, utilisée de plus en plus fréquemment contre ceux qui osent critiquer l’islamisme et son entrisme idéologique dans nos institutions. Et j’ose le dire, il s’agit du Djihâd judiciaire. Une manière de faire taire toute critique de l’entrisme islamiste. C’est la seconde étape après le chantage et les intimidations sur fond d’islamophobie.
On n’oppose pas des arguments à mes arguments. On saisit les tribunaux pour m’intimider, pour me coûter du temps, de l’argent, de l’énergie, et pour envoyer un message à tous ceux qui voudraient s’exprimer comme moi : taisez-vous, ou vous paierez le prix.

Je refuse de me taire. Je refuse de m’excuser pour avoir exprimé une inquiétude légitime, partagée par des millions de Français. Je refuse que mon témoignage de femme affranchie du voile soit criminalisé au nom d’une pseudo tolérance qui ne tolère en réalité qu’une seule chose, le silence.
Je l’ai dit, et je le répète aujourd’hui, la France doit rester la France et ne se verra jamais une terre d’islam.
On ne peut pas m’accuser de racisme ou d’islamophobie, je suis d’origine maghrébine et musulmane mais comme beaucoup de Français, je suis inquiète pour le devenir de mon pays et de mon peuple. Je suis inquiète pour l’avenir des femmes et de nos petites filles.

Si d’autres personnes que moi pensent que débattre de l’islamisme et de la place du voile dans nos institutions est un droit fondamental dans une démocratie, partagez ce message. Pas pour moi. Pour que ce débat reste possible. Pour que la peur de poursuites judiciaires ne devienne pas le principal outil de censure en France.

Je me défendrai devant les tribunaux avec la même détermination que je me défends ici, debout, sans honte et sans regret.

You know as well as I do that when a man ranked #99 in an event against male peers immediately jumps to #1 against women, it's unfair.

When a 42 year old man who hasn't participated in sport for years returns and immediately qualifies for the Olympics against women while never having done so in his prime against male peers, it's unfair.

When a man takes up a sport and within 2 years becomes among the best in the world while it takes female athletes years and years to do the same, it's unfair.

When over 80 men who call themselves women have won national and/or world championship titles despite there only being around 1,000 of them on record, it's unfair.

When the only "transman" on record having won a national title did so in a category by herself, but multiple "transwomen" have set national and world records, beating every single female athlete of their age who has ever lived, that's unfair.

We know males have an advantage. This is evident in our every day lives, in every athletic event on record, we can see the differences with our eyes.

We know that estrogen does not turn men into women and testosterone does not turn women into men. If women cannot level the playing field while on steroids, how can you say men are able to level the playing field in the opposite direction?

And even if they can, why on earth are you demanding women who do everything they can to maximize their athletic potential should give up our opportunities and awards to men who are trying to minimize theirs?

It's humiliating to elite female athletes who have to lose to second-rate males.

It's insulting to the men who are so much more athletic but never win anything who have to watch men they beat suddenly getting praise for inferior performances.

It's contrary to the spirit of competition and good sportsmanship.

It's pathetic.

And it's ending.

I read as much as I could stomach of this article, and it's littered with;

1. Cultural relativism; "Who are we as westeners to judge what they do in non-western countries?"

2. Minimization; "Not all FGM is the same. Some forms are purely aesthetic and not very invasive."

3. Apologism; "Some women who have undergone FGM have satisfying sex-lives."

4. Deflection; "Males' genitals are also cut."

All of the authors can FUCK RIGHT OFF. FGM is a horrific practise, regardless of what type it is, where it's done, what the people's culture is or wether the parents consented. Girls and women deserve to be protected from it, and articles like this derail the efforts to make that happen.

I addressed the Irish Oireachtas. It is a great honor for me to stand here today – in a country that understands the price of freedom better than many in Europe, better than many in the world, and that shares our belief that every voice counts, every nation matters. Please remember, your voice matters – from Ireland’s vote at the United Nations, to the words in your media. From your thoughts here in Dublin, to every home in the global Irish community around the world. That’s millions of people who can influence hundreds of millions more. When the most powerful apply pressure, the global community helps guide that pressure in the right direction. The aggressor must be held accountable for what was done.

Please, take an active role in making the Tribunal for this aggression a reality. Not just joining, but pushing, working, insisting that justice must begin with accountability. Please, continue to advocate for every form of sanctions against Russia. And it is time for Russian assets to serve the cause of peace – to help defend and rebuild Ukraine. This is a long-overdue decision, and it must be implemented. And please – call on everyone in the world to help return all the children abducted by Russia, and all the prisoners still held in Russian jails and camps – many of whom have been there not just since 2022, but since 2014, when Russia launched its hybrid war against us and occupied Crimea. This has gone on far too long to simply close our eyes and turn the page on Russia.

Without a just peace, hatred will not fade – it will continue to smolder and provoke new violence. History has seen this before. And this time, it must be different. We need real peace. Help us achieve it. And never lose your faith in Ukraine.
