The system is so fucked, don’t be the sucker left paying the tab. Do not pay that at all. A) that is wayyyyy too high for any birth out of pocket, let alone an uncomplicated one. My first was the least complicated and I got suckered and paid way too much out of pocket. Others had significant issues, hundreds and hundreds of thousands worth of bills and post insurance we’ve been billed essentially nothing which makes no sense to me. Medical bills can no longer impact your credit score so ignore it and it will go away eventually. The real answer in the face of funding endless illegals (which you’ve now seen firsthand we are unquestionably doing) is have cash on you. Offer them cash on the spot (scale to services but low, like in the hundreds) and they will likely take it. Direct friends have been successful with this so many times

Honestly no… the pay is about right here, what needs to happen is for there to be big upsides for stretch incentives based on material outcomes, budget underspends, etc. All current incentives by our government are set up for mass extraction, waste and fraud. There is no positive to saving money or being efficient, everyone’s wants a bloated budget so they can run to the private sector and say “look at the size of this budget I “managed”
