Earlier today, I conducted thorough research on how several African governments have changed over time. Below is a summary of key uprisings and political transitions;
1. Burkina Faso Uprising in 2014
Causes for the uprising.
The uprising began when President Blaise Compaoré attempted to amend the constitution to extend his 27-year rule.
What Happened:
>Massive protests erupted across the country. >Demonstrators eventually stormed the Parliament building forcing President Compaoré to flee the country.
2. Tunisia Revolution between 2010–2011
Caused by;
>High unemployment.
>Police brutality and harassment.
>Rising food prices.
>Lack of political freedoms.
Triggered by;
The revolution was sparked by Mohamed Bouazizi a street vendor who set himself on fire after suffering police humiliation and the confiscation of his goods.
Outcome:
Bouazizi’s act ignited nationwide protests, eventually forcing President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali to flee the country in January 2011.
3. Egyptian Revolution in 2011
Causes:
>30 years of President Hosni Mubarak’s authoritarian rule.
>Widespread police brutality.
>Corruption and deepening poverty.
>High youth unemployment.
Millions of Egyptians gathered in Cairo’s Tahrir Square, mobilized largely through social media. After 18 days of mass demonstrations, President Mubarak resigned.
4.The upcoming Ugandan 🇺🇬revolution (2025-2026)
What will cause the revolution.
>Police Brutality and harassment.
>Corruption and high taxation.
>Vote rigging and election violence by security forces.
>Abductions and increased political prisoners.
>Youth unemployment.
Internet shutdown.
The will be Outcomes.
Millions of Ugandans ( students, employees, unemployed youths ) will march to state house nakasero leading to the downfall of the government.

This young man embodies true passion for leadership and a deep sense of patriotism. Like all of us, he may have his flaws, but they’re only human. One thing I’m certain of is that he will stand firm and offer the necessary resistance on the floor of Parliament. That’s exactly the kind of courage and conviction we need.
